Owner really helpful in arranging our onward trip. He even provided us with a bus schedule of the complete country. We arrived late and the taxi driver had some difficulties finding the place but it is close to the airport. Neighbourhood is safe and family house oriented, obviously not in the center of town. Wifi in the room was stable and good.

We stayed at this lovely, homey B and B for 4 nights and felt very welcome. Manuel, the owner, is so sweet and helpful. He serves an amazing breakfast with lots of fruit, eggs, bread, rice and beans, and coffee. His cat and parrot are friendly and his backyard and covered eating area are beautiful. A bit of a pain to take the bus in and out of downtown (we had no problem getting there but couldn't figure out where to catch the bus back and ended to taking a very pricey taxi back). Stay here!

Manuel is the friendliest hostel owner we have ever met. He went out of his way to be very welcoming and helpful, accommodating our late flight arrival, and helping us with bus travel to our next destination. He made us lovely breakfasts, even when we had to leave at 5.30, and as we left he told us to contact him if we needed anything. We are returning for the last night of our stay before we fly back home. Would highly recommend staying here.

So great that we came back when we stayed another night in San Jose the night before our departing flight. MANUEL IS THE BEST!

If you're just staying in San Jose for a night, DEFINITELY stay here (we did twice). It's closer to the airport than most hostels which'll save you $10 in taxi fare, and it's right near a bus stop that'll get you downtown in under 10 minutes. Manuel, the owner, is fantastic (literally drove us to the grocery store one night so we could get some dinner after arriving late). Bedrooms are comfy and clean. The pool area in the back is picturesque. Manuel's breakfast is huge, delicious and included.

Manuel was very nice. He cut fresh fruit for us in the middle of the night. He also provided a wake up service. Overall Hosel was very nice.

We lived staying here. It was simple and well kept. Breakfast was so delicious and Manuel was so kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again. Perfect if your looking for a quiet place to rest and relax.
