No lockers, and the lock on the dorm room door was broken the second day. Dorm had a musty smell. The heater in the room didn't work. Really low bunks, with a weird metal mesh thing underneath the top mattress which because of the lowness of the bunk, i kept getting my hair caught in, very annoying. Shower room had no lock, just a curtain separating the cubicles. Common areas were nice, but dorm was a bit shabby.

Twin room had just a bunk bed which was unexpected but otherwise good basic quality.

This was a nice place to spend a night - very homely and some people were staying there long-term.

Very nice hostel, location is in an area with lots of little shops, restaurants and bars a little outside of city center but with good bus connection and close enough to walk to the center. While the house is beautiful, unfortunately, it is pretty noisy and you can hear people walk around outside the room easily, so bringing earplugs is recommended for light sleepers. Still, a good place to stay!

Excellent hostel situated in a lovely suburb of Auckland (25 mins walk to city centre). Staff extremely helpful and genuine. Well stocked kitchen (herbs, spices, oils etc). Relaxing atmosphere. Really close to Auckland museum. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Great little hostel just outside the CBD. It was about a 40min walk to the waterfront and central city, but well worth the stay away from the noise. The facilities were great, and they offered a lot of things that made our stay better than usual. The hostel has a collection of travel guides that they lend out to any guest, which was a lot of help! And they worked with us to be able to check out during a time when their reception was closed. Highly recommended.

Friendly owner, general chilled feeling about the place, as billed. Could do with more loos, and less soggy shower mats. Parnell is nice enough, though beware of temptation if your budget is tight. There's some ace eats. Non Solo Pizza is one, though La Porchetta (chain) is half the price and pretty good. Watch out for the cruise ship passengers, occasionally released at the top of Parnell to trickle down, buying useless trinkets, to be picked up at the bottom. They are all numbered. Funny.
