After staying at competitors like City Backpackers I would never stay at this hostel again. The vibe was so off I didn’t speak to a single person while I was there. Was only there for one night but I was just not comfortable. There isn’t any outdoor area, no bar, or curtains on the beds. The toilets were quite literally the worst smelling bathrooms I’ve ever been in, with no exaggeration. The shower is fine I guess, nowhere to put anything, and the auto shower turn off is super annoying.

The subterranean City Hostel - Central Station was recently renovated and features natural lighting through the cleverly-designed glass roof. Hostelworld guests have said this hostel is clean, cosy, warm, secure and "very tidy and well managed", with doors locked by key code. Our users have also noted their appreciation of the friendly ambience of the hostel, such as the music which is piped throughout, including the bathrooms. In fact, several of our users have said this is the best hostel they've stayed at - a "favourite" that they would "definitely recommend".
