An excellent hostel located around the corner from the main square. Fabio is so friendly and very helpful with information on the local area. Try and do the 5 in 1 day if you stay, it is one of the best adventure days I have had on my trip so far!
A really friendly little hostel in a perfect location. Great breakfast and a really interesting range of outdoor activities to get your teeth into! Highly recommended.
Fabio and the team at El Dorado welcome you and do everything that they can to make you feel at home. I highly recommend the hostel for it's central location and the many activities available to guests.
Stayed two nights here and enjoyed them both. Very friendly and helpful staff (especially Fabio!), clean room/communal space/bathrooms (all shared), great location (walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the main plaza), good price (40,000 pesos for two per night), and great activities run by El Dorado. Went on the hiking/caving/rappelling/cliff jumping tour and loved it! Had a great time! Definitely recommend it.
Good place to stay. Friendly people who work there, hot showers, good wifi, clean facilities, nice garden in the back. This is not a party place, a friendly hostel with nice staff and guests.
Fabio and the other staff at El Dorado were so helpful and couldn't do enough, all smiles all time of day and night. From booking us onto excellent rafting and paragliding tours to getting us a well-priced ticket on a bus to Cartagena, Fabio was a legend, and we loved the dog and cat too! Would definitely return if we come back to San Gil. Cute town, great hostel

I had a great time at El Dorado, the staff speak very good english and can organise all of the activities for you in San Gil from rafting, canyoning to paragliding and horseback riding. It's very well situated right in the middle of the town near the main square. Everyone was very friendly and social there and it was easy to make friends.
Staff were really helpful, and we loved their dog and kitten too! We booked the caving trip with them, it's not for the faint of heart not the safest thing we have done!!
