Macondo Hostel

Bienvenidos a Macondo Hostel... Our family run hostel has been receiving Backpackers, Locals, Adventurers and Families since 2003. Started by backpackers and lovers of adventure our hostel is designed for those looking to make new friends and to form groups for rafting, paragliding, bungee and hikes. For those wanting to relax our garden is prefect to escape in, practice yoga under a mango tree or cool down in our small dipping pool.

Macondo is known for its helpful Information and a great social atmosphere with activities including Tejo Nights (local game with explosions) and group meals. We have a great selection of board games(catan), Netflix, lockers, kitchen, coffee etc but its the quality of the activities and free information that we give saving our guests money and helping them have the best possible experience that has made us so popular. We are Rafters, Hikers, Bungee Jumpers, Cavers, Cyclists and Paragliders and we'll put you in contact with the best guides in town.

Over the past 22 years we have had so many guests become our friends and we look forward to having you join that list. During that time we've travelled and some things that annoy us when we stay at hostels include; Early check in, we get you in as soon as we can(and if we cant free coffee and hammocks while you wait), Free luggage storage especially for hikers (if you're alone will help you find buddys) and use of bathrooms and facilities while waiting for night buses.
