This guesthouse is a Japanese traditional wooden house located in a quiet district, with a lovely atmosphere. The simple and nice decoration made me relaxed when I was staying in it. Most important of all, It was clean and tidy. The kitchen allowed me to cook breakfast and felt as if I was at home. The bus stop is just around the corner and very convenient for sightseeing.

This hotel lets you feel totally Japanese style. The hotel environment is very good. Transport to visit everywhere in Kyoto is very convenient. There are few '居酒屋' located near the hotel which is very friendly. Definitely I will go back to the same hotel if I back to Kyoto in future.

Please include all your rules on hostelword.com and on the guest house website as we found it very restrictive (half of them weren't mention on any websites). We wouldnt have choosen to stay there in the fist instance. Bathroom facilities could be updated. It's very difficult to find the guest house so better description on how to get there may be needed.

It was very cool to stay in an old Japanese house. Just be aware that with the traditional house comes some fairly barebones facilities (compared to the other hostels we've stayed at in Japan, at least), and if you're not a Japanese-sized person, you may feel too big for the house. For us, the positives outweighed the negatives, but I have to say I was glad we were only there for one night. The character is really the thing here, not the comfort.

Owner is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is great, traditional tatami common room with kotatsu too! Location is a bit far from kyoto city but it's good for all other areas like ginkakuji, ryoanji and arashiyama. :) Loved the experience!

This is quite really traditional japanese guesthouse. Staff, Koban, is helpful with all the spots and location. Environment is quiet, peaceful but we can only stay in the common room until 23:30 which is quite strict about it. Location is a bit far away from the city centre I had to take buses all the time but the bus stops are not far away, within 10 minutes walk. However, it's quite difficult to find the guesthouse for the first arrival as it is in a small alley.
