Great hostel on a very well location; just in the middle of everything. Friendly and helpful staff and a great menu line-up at the restaurant.

Do not ever book anything through this hostel! You will be ripped off and then insulted repeatedly in emails. I booked a ticket to the impressions show and was informed twice that the show was 9pm, and to collect the ticket after 4pm at reception. I arrive to a ticket for a show at 7.45pm, which by that time I have missed. 245CNY wasted! The hostel then blame me, saying their receptionists English is better than mine (I'm English)! 3 emails later and no resolution!

The Hostel was in a great location near the lake, but was a little hard to find as it is not on the main road. Look for the Eudamora Bar on Nanshan Road, the hostel is directly behind it.. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food at the attached Illy cafe is ok and reasonably priced. The food at the Euamora Bar is more expensive but outstanding. The hostel was probably a little overpriced compared to others in China, but the overall experience was good.

Stay here, it's super cheap and right by the lake. Could have used more in terms of a common room where you can chill and don't have to pay for a coffee but it was a great place.

Nice hostel. Very green. Not so central location, but quite close to train station on the other side. Very nice area to stroll in the evening!

One of the Mingtown group of hostels which are all roughly the same in terms of appearance. They are going for a chic cafe look but the problem is the chic cafe prices. This is certainly not a place for people who are travelling for a long time. There is clearly a lot of short term holiday makers here which is fine but just don't expect to be able to afford anything in their bar. That said it is clean and comfortable with an excellent kitchen to make your own food.

Quite an average hostel experience. The staff speaks English and are quite helpful in telling you how to get places. The dorm room wasn't the cleanest and the bathrooms feel like prison cells, but it's pretty standard. Lockers are available in the rooms, so very secure.

For a Chinese Hostel, I thought it was a great place to stay, It was right by the lake and has a good location. The atmosphere and the way everything is set up allows for interaction with other travellers. It is difficult to find especially at night as it is tucked away in an alley behind a bar and a hotel. If possible I would give exact direction from a bus stop or a major landmark since it is close to one of the entrances to West Lake. Overall, great place to stay I would go again.

I really struggled to find the hostel as there are two entrances so make sure you download a map before you leave. The hostel is undergoing some construction work so at first glance it doesn't look great but it is a good hostel. The beds are comfortable, good size lockers, hot water but only at certain times of the day. The guys behind the counter were extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend hiring a bike and cycling aeound the lake and Hangzshou to discover it all. Good location

Great hostel. My only negative comment is a question : how come the check in can be done at any time ? We got new arrivals in the dorm from 8 a.m, waking up everybody !

I stayed in two hostels in Hangzhou and this one was the worse one. It is probably the worse I have stayed during my stay in China actually. The stuff was really unfriendly, even though there were 3 ppl behind the counter, the process was very slow. Also during the night when we called the reception to ask them to tell the taxi driver the address, the person was very rude, not trying to understand us and putting off the phone several times! In addition, the rooms were not so tidy.

It sucks that there's no wifi in the rooms. Other than that, the place was amazing!

Not sure what's the purpose of the daily room check as the staff conducting the check just glance at the room for several seconds before moving on.

The location is excellent! I find the importance of location when I was there during weekends, as the traffic jam made it nearly impossible to get to the transportation hub by buses around the West Lake. So if you want to leave the West Lake Area and go to somewhere else, you have to walk to the subway station or the bus station and it'll be painstaking (may take 1-2 hours) if you stay at lakeside hostels closer to the hills

There is no wifi in the rooms and the signal is weak in the common room neither. Also, I booked a 6 ppl dorm but they only can provide me a 4 ppl dorm, I think it is better to stick to the customer's plan. The ground floor restaurant(illy) is, however, impressive. Both dinner and breakfast is tasty!

This Hostel is not very constant... Now you get great service, then... Not so much. The dorms are clean, spatious and the general atmosphere is rather good. The food in the Bar is excellent, with a wiide variety of dishes (both western and asian) albeit a bit more pricy, but for a nice steak I'm willing to pay up. The staff disappoints every single time. When the water in the dispensers was gone they replied "maybe tomorrow" and they make rude comments in Chinese (which I sadly understand)

Wonderful location, right on the west lake. Decent, clean dorms and a nice restaurant, selling mostly western food though. Good breakfasts if you need a break from experimenting with Chinese food :)
