Helpful, friendly staff. However I can't understand why they keep two big dogs and require the guests to keep closing the gates between where breakfast is served and where the tables are! It is not hygienic having to touch the gates locks all the time while having our breakfast.

I absolutely loved this hostel! A very unique and cozy spot in the center of all the pelourinho action. In addition to a very helpful staff this hostel also serves one of the best breakfasts I've had in all my travels(plus, it's served till midday which is awesome after those late nights out). The owner would always ask "would you like some eggs with that?" .. yes please! The rooms are very basic, but they serve their purpose. Excellent value for the money. I highly recommend this spot!

Really a nice hostel! The staff is nice, and the owner is awesome. He knows were to go, and what to do. The outside area combined with the free caipirinha is a great way to meet other travellers!

It was a pleasure to celebrate my birthday there Nov 2011. Rooms are well sized; an instant plus. Location wise it's perfect...close to so many things to do and see in Pelourinho. I didn't have any security issues when there. Hostel itself is a lovely place with it's own bohemian/ moroccan like personality. Chill out area has a catalogue of Brazilian movies for guests to enjoy...it needs a bit of work but the vibe is there. Also, loved just sitting outside by the pool area. The breakfast was

Great location within the "Pelourinho" with a great and very helpful staff, excellent breeakfast and two lovely "security guards" ;-) Rooms are clean and specious. Beds were at the better end of what I experienced in Brasil so far. When I make it back to Salvador one day, I definetily will try to get a bed here again. Thank you guys!

What a nice hostel! Outstanding Breakfast from 8:00 to 12:00 (very comfortable after a long night in Salvador) Nice dormitory and free Caipirinhas every nights between 17:00 and 18:00... Great team! I deeply recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy the taste of Brasil and Salvador.

The place is very good and the staff very helpful. The only problem that I see was the two big dogs which stays in the same are of the breakfast and in a very little space. They are very calm, but if youi don´t like dogs, you might don´t feel so confortable.

THE BEST HOSTEL WE HAVE STAYED IN, in Brazil. AWESOME LOCATION, owner was very friendly and helpful. Dogs were just beautiful, though i am a cat person, the dogs are just awesome.. Our private room was beautiful, spacious and very clean, got cleaned every day. Recommend this hostel when staying in the Pelo area of Salvador..Awesome location and a nice pool to relax in..

Great location close to everything in the Pelourinho. Very friendly and helpful staff that put together daily list of activities in the area (many of which are quite unique and not included in typical guide books). Clean rooms. Daily happy hour with free caipirinhas. Only downside would be that it feels a bit cramped. I'd stay there again.

This hostel had a great atmosphere, the owner was super nice, and his dogs were cool. We stayed there on a Tuesday night, and the location was great for getting to the live music on the steps. It was however a bit close to another live music performance, so when we came home around 11pm, our whole room was vibrating with the music from down the street. But my overall impression was to really like this hostel.

Best hostel I have stayed in so far by far! After being locked out of another hostel (no names needed) Pedro took us in and gave us a bed for the night. Ended up loving the hostel so much stayed for a further four nights. The staff are friendly, the security is ample with 2 HUGE dogs and the breakfast is the best I have had in a hostel. Also a brilliant chill out area with Brazilian movies that have been kindly translated and free Caprinha happy hour from 5pm, free booze! Definitely recommended

My humble opinion? Best hostel in Latin America. Even on a boring weekday they keep you on a constantly relaxed vacation mode. The catalogue of free Brazilian films in their cool lounge theatre (that TV set is bigger than my bedroom), the happy hour with free caipirinhas, the jungle terrace where travelers mingle, the chill Brazilian music, the massive breakie, the folks that'll go out of their ways to help you get an in-depth Bahia experience. Only con: our private room felt a tad like a dorm.
