Only stayed for one night but it´s a very nice hostel. Best breakfast of Brazil and a great place to meet other travelers.

great hostel, run by an enthusiastic team. Great to get personal charm and get to know the people and owner's instead of being another guest in a chain hostel. Amazing breakfast....best in brazil, open til 12 allows you slumber from your bed after the free caiprinha's all you can drink happy hour from the night before. Great social atmosphere and cozy surroundings. This was my home away from home in Salvador. I stayed 2 weeks and then again another couple of days.

Had a great time staying at hostel galaria 13. The common areas are a little small and eating inside was a little tough when it rained. Also I could not manage to get the water hot in the shower. But all in all a fantastic hostel which I will definitely recommend to all.

Loved this hostel! Only place we've had fresh eggs and sausages cooked for us! It was a super social hostel with free caipirinha hour and lots of fun activities on each day. Really recommend it!

The good: This hostel is in a great location, it's clean and really well-run, they have a pool, which is awesome, and the free breakfast is the best I've had so far. They also offer caipirinhas free for an hour at night which is great because all of the guests get together for that one hour and socialize. The bad: They have two ENORMOUS dogs which can be quite intimidating (even though they're both nice) and the beds aren't very comfortable.

Galeria 13 is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. That's why I came back here several times. The staff is superfriendly and the amosphere is the best. The daily happy hour with free caipirinhas is great because it's the best time of the day to meet other travelers and make plans for the night together. The breakfast is delicious, they serve eggs and sausages. THey have a cozy garden with swimming pool and a nice chill area where you can watch DVD's. I hope I will come back here again!

You guys were great. I think you should let people know that they might be in a location away from the main building. This caught us off guard. The manager needs to smile a little more, too. He is very helpful, but comes off as annoyed and abrasive. Nevertheless, I would stay there again.

Personnel of the hostel was very good, the location offers a lot of options for planning any kind of event and dinner/lunch accomodation. It was a good opportunity to meet people of different nationalities. Breakfast is very good. Hospitality is an added value of this place.

Good hostel, very clean! Paulo and Pedro are so nice!Paulo has the best tips! we stayed in a double room for 2 nights and 1 night in a 1 dorm. the dorm was in the new house, just around the corner of the hostel. that was fine. The hostel is really clean, perfect breakfast with eggs and sausage, fresh fruit, juices and good bread. Its a nice and social hostel. Caipirinha happy hour is good, people cather around outside have a few drinks and then all go out for food or drinks.STAY HERE!!!

The best thing about this place was the the staff. They handled lots of people and their wishes, needs, inquiries with patience, competence and friendliness. The location is excellent as a base for exploring the old town area. The facilities were somewhat cramped but given the location, that is probably unavoidable.

Great breakfast, and helpful staff. A good place to meet other travellers that want to have a good night out. Great location too! Just maybe need to clean the toilets a bit more, and get a toilet seat for the down stairs toilet! And thank your for offering me to have breakfast when I checked in at 7am, much appreciated!

Galeria 13 is definately one of the best hostels in which I've stayed in Brazil. It's ideally located in a quiet street of the Pelourinho (the place to be in Salvador). It has spacious dorms and everything is very clean. The staff is multi-lingual and very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazingly good with fruits, cakes, eggs and sousages, coffee, juices,... and it lasts from 8 until 12 (!!) It has a couple of nice common areas and a swimming pool, which makes it very social.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in in all of South America. The staff were fantastically friendly and willing to help, the atmosphere was amazing, they had a tiny (but fun) pool, free drinks happy hours, and decent beds and showers. I couldn't have loved this place more!

Good = Great social aspect. common room & tables outside, large breakfast selection, and free drinks for an hour in the evenings. Very near the happening area of Pelhourinho, and walking distance to the busses Bad = Guests were told they werent allowed to use the pool while I was there, then why have a pool?
