I loved this place, the man that runs it was an excellent host. The beds are big and the rooms are set out nicely, there are so many things offered here as well, you can buy used kimonos, vegetarian curries and breakfast and tea/coffee is free! It was so easy to get around, there are four stations within 5 min walking distance, and the Nijo castle is pretty much visible from the hostel, I would definitely stay here again.
It's ok if you looking for something cheap.... Pretty good breakfast but very crowded and bad smelling rooms
