I loved this place. Couldnt have been better. My only problem was finding it. It didnt have an address and no one in town knew where it was. They all said I was mistaken and that the hostel was in Tunxi. The two similar names are very very confusing.

It's difficult to review this hostel as we didn't stay there in the end. The water stopped working so they asked us if we'd move to their sister hostel below Mt.Huangshan. As this suited our plans we went. The sister hostel was much nicer and I would recommend that more that this one. Old Street located ideally in the city but if you want to climb the mountain the other hostel is more ideal. Old Street has character but there was communication issues with the staff, but they were still nice!

I liked the place. It had a good location and charater. Room had cabinet with a lock, but was a little shabby. Staff was helpful, but not much disposition to help orient me with tourist things that i might do.

The room just appeared alittle dirty, especially the bathroom. I feel like the bathroom needed a paint job. Other then that the hostel was quite nice. Location is very convenient. Not too far from the train station and right on old street, but in my opinion there is nothing to do in Huang Shan except go climb Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

Situated on the Old Street of Tunxi, this Hostel has a very central location ad therefore is perfect for independent travelers visiting Anhui. The staff, all english speaker, is very kind, patient and eager to help. The place is also nice for meeting other travelers, in the lobby or in the bar. If I could make a little criticism, I would say that the rooms, specifically the more expensive ones, lack a little atmosphere and character : the furnishment is basic and mean-looking.

The hostel is located right in the centre of Huangshan. They organize trips to interesting places around the city and also offer a bus that will take you to the mountain itself. Staff are very eager to help with any of your travel plans. Seeing that generally every aspect of this hostel (location, cleanliness, ...) was pretty much good, I'd say it's a great value for money!

I catched cold due to the cold water one day. Staff said that there were so many people and hot water was not enough. Rooms are big and staff is very helpful.

Good location at the end of Old Street. Our 4-bed dorm room was big and clean and had ensuite shower room and western toilet. Shower water was sometimes warm, sometimes cool, certainly never hot, but that was the only negative we found with this hostel. Otherwise, it was brilliant. The staff are very knowledgeable and quite helpful, and can book buses and tours for you.

- No air conditioning. Freezing cold inside the hostel. Our window was broken and constantly open and had to be "fixed" with sellotape. - Uncomfortable beds (you can feel every spring). - No hot water in the shower. Warm at best. - Wi-fi and wired Internet connection was extremely slow and some times just cut out. - Noisy guests way after 11pm. Hostel staff didn't control it. The walls are paper thin. Sounds like next door's party is in my room. + Hostel can book train tickets.

Clean hostel with decent wifi and hard mattress. Perfect jumping off point to climb the mountain with a shuttle picking you up early for Tunxi. They will help you book a stay on the peak and store your baggage for you. Shower downstairs is hot, in room it gets lukewarm quickly. Great location right on Old Street with a lot of charm. Interesting city, borderline quaint. Money Vs Value is great. Come for the mountain, it is amazing.

Old Street Hostel : This hostel is located in heart of Old Street Tunxi City. Unfortunately, the staffs in this hostel were so unkind .Moreover they did not give any smile at all. It was freezing there, even the heater was stand by. Water heater at the room did not work properly! The water was damnly cold. -DragonWinter, Indonesia-

Really nice hostel where I really felt at home. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the rooms were clean and cosy. The location was good, in a nice old street with restaurants and shops, but no cars (so no noise-related issues). It was convenient to go to the mountains and to places like Xidi and Hongcun from here. However, on my last day I was really ill and I asked if I could stay in my room for one more hour after check-out time until I had to leave, and this wasn't allowed.
