Great Hostel. Easy to hire bikes from them, good breakfast. Was a little tricky to find and I would suggest asking the staff for a step by step direction map on how to get there.

Nice accomodation, traditional atmosphere and perfect location in a really quiet area close to Kyoto station and the town center. Perfect if you are a couple, a group or a lonely traveller that doesn't look for friends; if you'd like to meet people go somewhere else.

Had a great stay in Kyoto, the hostel is seperated over the street with rooms, reception and dining area in different buildings which doesn't cause too many problems however a bit different. Our room was spacious and clean and the hostel is close to bus and train stations and is also at 10 mins walk to kyoto station... all in all a great place to stay

Liked my stay very much, room was small but clean and cute, good information at check-in and convenient to have wifi internet in the room. Only thing that was not so practical was that the reception was at a different place than the actual place where I stayed.

This review refer to Nagomi Ryokan. I was placed in the annex which is 10m away from Nagomi reception and stayed 4 nights. Charming and comfortable "ryokan" with a large common room but which is always empty apart the morning when they serve breakfast. "Ryokan" because it has the Ryokan design but actually it's not a true ryokan. There is only one huge shower/bath room but experienced no problem during my stay. Staff (mainly women) are dressed in kimono which is nice and speaks good english.

This hostel comprises of several buildings in close vicinity. The one we stayed in was beautifully decorated but somewhat lacked a lively atmosphere. All in all, it's a good place to stay in, although a bit pricey.

We were delighted to find this hostel, which is well-situated within easy walking distance of Kyoto station. The facilities were fine and we were given a useful local map on arrival. We liked the authentic Japanese feel!

We stayed there for only 1 night so there is nothing much we can comment on. We didn't get to meet the owner. Generally it is very clean & comfortable. The young staff members are pleasant

京都の町屋に泊まれるのは珍しいと思います。全部で3棟あるのですが,町屋っぽくない棟もあってそこに変更されたので残念でした。でも洋風の所も広くて良かったです。

The staff was friendly. They provide a free room cleaning and a free towel each day, which is not common in Japanese hostels. The air condition was a bit annoying at night, but you can turn it off, so it is not a big problem.

Cute little place (half traditional and half hostel) with lovely staff and a great breakfast. Hard to find, but worth it.

If you are looking for a true Japanese Ryokan experience and don't want to empty your wallet, this is THE place to stay. I've travelled around the world and this is the first time I'm compelled to write a review because I had such a great time here. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, the facilities are very clean, you get a kimono, the atmosphere is quiet and authentic, and it's close to the key locations. Try their Japanese breakfast and Kimono & tea! Definitely will come back! Arigato

A bit far from the station, but if you are using buses to visit temples and so the bus stop is near. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is no elevator so if you are carrying a big backpack or suitcase can be a little hard. Not a bad option for staying in Kyoto and sleeping in a futon in a tatami room.
