Clean and close to convenience stores, the bar district and bike rental shops. Kyoto's landmarks are fairly spread apart and this hostel is situated kind of in the middle of them, so you can do West-side attractions one day and East-side attractions the other. Staff were friendly and facilities are very clean and safe. There is a bar downstairs that has some good sake.

Stayed here for a week-long business trip during peak season as it was the only place available. My flight was delayed and I was very late for check in but the staff was kind enough to wait for me to arrive! Amazing location close to everything and especially worth it during Sakura season. Don't expect hostel luxury for the price you're paying... Metal bunkbeds and shared bathrooms await you here. No lockers to keep your belongings safe in the twin rooms.

+ Location is great, in a bustling neigbourhood The hostel is clean, apart from smelly shoes in the corridor - Horribly overpriced: we paid 15.000¥ (125€) for 1 night in a twin room with shared bathroom (nothing else was available in the city, they took advantage of this) Beds aren't comfortable Bring earplugs, you won't sleep without them Can't open the windows because of an alarm system You cannot leave your luggage if you arrive between 11.00 and 15.00 Only 1 toilet and 2 showers

The hostel is in an excellent location, but it has bare bones facilities and decor....my stay there was ok, but there are many more stylish (and more fun) hostels in Kyoto

which checking in you get a penalty scale for possible violations of the hostel policy. they might had bad experiences in the past, but for me this was not welcoming. hostel was clean besides the smelly shoe shelf at the entrance. location is good for going out in the evening.

Highly recommended hostel. The location absolutely cannot be beat as you are steps away from transportation, the river, and the bustling and historic Gion district. The sake bar is fun and gets lively with locals after 8pm. The staff were some of the nicest people I met in Japan.

Location was good, lots of vibe in neigbourhood but the "hostel" was very expensive for what you get (it was cherry blossom peak time) and it is not a proper hostel as it does not have many facilities unless you want to spend all your time at their bar. so expect just a bed which isn't the worst thing as it makes you explore the city longer

A fantastic location and a perfect stop off in AMAZING Kyoto. The sake bar below was a great bonus, as was the complimentary tea and fridge/freezer. For me, it was the perfect place to stay and I would recommend to anyone passing through this incredibly fun city.
