It was okay minus the lack of atmosphere you get at most city hostels. Good location, security no worries. Rooms were quite small and not much storage space for bags so had to keep it on my bed with me. Neither great nor bad. A bed and doors that locked.

This was an "okay" hostel. If offered the basics and glad that there was toast offered in the mornings. One suggestion is that hand towels and hand soap should be in placed in the bathrooms.

Great atmosphere, location and facilities. I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

Room clean, had a roof terrace. Location was ok, good if you want to be close to bars, potentially a tough end of town; very rowdy at night time, approached by a few ladies of the night during the stay. It would be great if the reception offered a tear off city map you get in most hostel or the ability to book trips from reception but ok in all.

The bathrooms were really dirty. There was no soap and no washing up liquid in the kitchen.

This hostel is ok if you're looking for somewhere as a convenient base to explore Auckland as it's reasonably located. However the bathrooms could have been cleaner, and although the rooms had locks it was quite easy for anyone to walk into the hostel from the street. The staff could be a bit abrupt but generally had a helpful attitude. Free wifi was good. The light short-circuited several times in my room but think this was a temporary problem. The 'free breakfast' was extremely limited.

Decent hostel that's good for a night or two. The free wifi made my stay worth it. If I wanted to meet people and do stuff in Auckland this would have been a bad hostel to stay at. The atmosphere isn't really social and there's hardly ever someone at the front desk so it would be difficult to ask for recommendations of stuff to do.

What struck me most was that most of the people in this hostel lived in the hostel - it was more a young professional dorm than a hostel. It meant that the long-timers were less up for meeting new people or for going out. They were nice enough - but a bit cliquey. Wifi was good - unlimited - which is apparently rare in NZ hostels. Location is at the top of the hill, which means going up and down into town is a bit of a workout.
