I had a very good experience at K Road. It was as expected except the beds were extremely squeaky! If you move even slightly on your bed, it makes a hell of a noise! (And I'm a lightweight guy!) The Vietnamese housekeeping lady is very very sweet! I tend to sleep in a bit too late and she always woke me up with a smile on her face. :)

It was great for one night. The wifi is great, and the computers are a good asset too. The bathrooms and rooms are clean but the kitchen is a bit gross. Not much of a kitchen either. Staff are efficient and willing to answer questions about buses etc. My one thought about the rooms would be it would be good if they provided some storage for things, like shelves and hooks and things. Otherwise everything is on the ground.

The hostel is well located (25 mins walk from the ferry and 5 mins walk from the main street: Queen st). Unlimited free WiFi and free breakfast including bread, jam, butter, ham, tea and coffee. I was in a 3 beds room big enough to store everyone's suitcases but a bit noisy as facing the main street. The room and toilet are not very well cleaned. Carpet not hoovered on a daily basis and toilet bins always full. No bed lights. Very small kitchen with only an electric cooker available.

I had a 4 bed dorm for myself but out of the window was a huge air condition or fan or anything and that was so loud even when I closed the window! And the button for the light was outside the door, but ok that was not really a problem Everything was clean

Everything was fine, no particular complaints, mostly clean, and chilled, good bathrooms. Could do maybe with a fan in the bedroom, pretty toasty in mid-summer. There are 2 kitchens but the layout means that there isn't enough space for one person to cook and another to wash up so making dinner may be a slow process. The free breakfast was bread and spreads mostly. Maybe not a place you want to relax in too much but it's well located for getting out and about. Cheap longer term rates too.

I enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back. The room and bathrooms were clean, however the kitchen upstairs was very dirty and there were no plates to put my piece of toast on.

Great stay, very friendly & helpful!

Very good hostel regarding the price ; calm, clean and very well located. Better for backpackers who are working and would like to stay longer.

Cooking area could be bigger and in better condition (its just one dirty unit with 2 hot plates where one falls apart and is very unsafe). We were told that the empty, broken fridge is there for over 9 month. The shower has lots of mold.

Free toast and WiFi, clean facilities, but a strange smell, poor ventilation.

Good hostel with free unlimited wifi that is really quick! Stayed here both times I was in Auckland. Recommend it!

Spent 2 nights in the hostel, rooms where good and clean. Bathrooms where really nice and so was the internet. Kitchen upstairs is small and no good to do kooking. Common area is also a bit small but if the weather is good they have a nice terrace.
