Ok overall. Location was great and it was clean. If you're a light sleeper, be warned, it's loud. It is above a night club and they clean early every morning. I booked a single and there was a tv in the room as promised. However, the tv channel was controlled by the main room so it became pointless to try to watch anything since the channel would randomly change. The hostel name and my room number were on my key which would be bad if I'd lost it or it was stolen. Other than that, I felt secure.

I stayed there for 3 nights and after frist night ive beaten by bedbugs and it was getting worse obviously The room i stayed it was so dirty the floor looked like it is never vacumed before and all the linen were not cleaned at all since i came back to australia i went to hospital as i have been madly itchy and some of spots got infected and been taking tab and also applying cream i wish i did not stay there the worst hostel i stayed in my life And also it was the most expensive one

The location is really good. When I drop off by the air bus, I just need to walk 5mins to get the hostel. Free breakfast and WIFI is a good gift for me. Really nice staff, they help me a lot, because it is my first time travelling in Auckland. Next time when I come back, I will stay here again.

the free wifi was excellent. K raod has a reputation for being an unsafe area, however I did not feel unsafe during my stay.

To start with the positive: It was great to have free breakfast and WIFI as well as towels and hair dryers. As well the location is good. It´s quite central (I found) and not too loud even there are some louder places around. The rooms I found quite small and as well not very charming. So was the shower and the washing facilities. The staff was not helpful at all (at least from my point of view as I arrived in Auckland). As well there were very strange people, not very open. Ok if u know AKL.

After a 13 hour train ride the last thing I wanted to deal with was a dump of a hostel, fortunately this place was anything but. Though I checked in later than planned, the receptionist was incredibly nice and helpful, going so far as to take my bags to my room for me (which I found out later was typical in this place). The free wifi and printing was a fantastic bonus! This place is perhaps in a grittier part of Auckland but with quite a bit of character, particularly at night. Great beds too!

do not stay here if you have a car! room was great with a tv and comfy bed. we stayed a friday night and my sister was kept up late due to the nightclub next door, you could feel the bass through the walls. some staff spoke very limited english so communicating was a problem. free breakfast was good and the free internet is always a plus! small hostel too so a bit more intimate and no loud groups which i like.

The hostel was in a great location although the owners didnt know anything helpful about the city bus or anything else a normal tourist might ask (no worries though, New Zealanders are extremely nice & helpful, just ask someone else!) The rooms are on the 2nd & 3rd floor, so be prepared to be hot at night, I have heard that some dont have windows! Breakfast is bread with butter, jam & meat as well as eggs you can cook yourself. Bathrooms and showers are mostly clean and you can borrow towels!

Pros: There is free Wi-Fi. Surprisingly not many Auckland hostels provide this service. Cons: Power points are located very close to the floor. Not convenient to use. I would stay in this hostel again.

The hostel itself was good. A window in the room would have been nice though.
