great location. easy access to restaurants, transportation and sightseeing places. clean, comfy and reasonable price. friendly staff.

Everything you could want in a hostel. Ideal location near to station, shops and sites. Staff are friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean and new. Wifi works. Sociable atmosphere, helped by large common room / dining area. Price is the standard rate for Japan. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location, walking distance to main shopping district. Hostel is very clean. It has free washing powder for our laundry and hot beverages.

a very great hostel for those who want to experience japanese lifestyle environment .the location is very good as it is nearby train station ,bus station and shijo kawaramachi which is a very lively place during the night.i really recomended this for those who want to have conversation with japanese and interested in knowing japanese people way of life.overall it was REALLY GREAT

Perfect for a short or long stay. It´s very clean. Common room is really nice. Best hostel ever.

The staff are very nice and helpful, but it is a little bit far from the kyoto jr station, it takes me 15mins to be there even by bike.

this is a clean and fairly comfortable hostle. However, don't expect too much help from the staff. The staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful in simple things like directions, translation, etc.

Although the room was very small it didn't pose a problem. And the main room for public use was spacious and a very good area to relax in. ^^

Wifi on 5th floor was spotty, didn't work all the time

Be aware, a lot of students living there. Most of them work in the hostel and sleep for free. The half kitchen is reserved for the staff (students), everywhere are signs "Staff only". The rooms smelling like athletic feets, it's disgusting. The rest was okay, but next time we would choose another place.

Location is great, cnetral area and many shops and makets around the hostel. I love the common area very much, it is very comfortable. Wifi is weak in my dorm and slow in common area sometimes. I would like to stay in here next time.

This hostel is situated in one of the main city area in Kyoto! It is easily accessible by bus and train and within walkable distance to shopping street like Teramachi and the Nishiki market. The nightlife district such as Pontocho is also nearby. In overall, beds are comfortable, with enough privacy, and ample storage space. Each guest is given a locker to store valuable stuffs. The lounge and kitchen area are also spacious and comfortable. Staffs are helpful too! There is also elevator!

Very close to city centre "Shijo-Kawaramachi" and there are convenience store, some Manga stores, Onigiri stand and Electronic store. Is so good for city site seeing! Staff are very kind and they can keep your luggage from 8am to 8pm. The bed was good too but i think.... "hostel" is "not so Japanese". I want travelers from other country to try "Japanese inn" just one night. Not "Bed" but "Futon", Not "only Shower" but "Furo (bathing) ", etc.... Of course there are "Washlet" ;) Should try it!

Great hostel!!! Very nice atmosphere, helpful and sexy staff :D excellent location, with buses and subway nearby. Lots of bathrooms so you don't have to wait to take a shower, and above all, SPOTLESS! So clean despite the number of people, I wonder how they do that! It's hard to go back to regular hostels after that! Would definitely go back there if I'm in Kyoto!

Really good location, right downtown within a short walking distance to Gion and the modest but fun night-life area. The hostel itself is very comfortable and clean. Kitchen is VERY well equipped, and the common room is large and fun. Met very nice people there, both travelers and staff (some foreigners work there for a few hours a day and get free accomodations! So it was nice hearing the perspective of people who have stayed there for over a month). Will stay here again!!

This is hands down the best hostel I have stayed in. Lovely staff, great location, absolutely spotless and really reasonably priced. We were really happy with our stay and even upgraded from a 10 bed dorm to a 4 bed dorm.
