Khaosan Kyoto is the best hostel ever!!! If you have a chance to come to Kyoto, this is a "MUST" place where you should stay over nights! The staffs are so friendly and helpful. and give you a lot of useful information which make your day as wonderful!!! The room and all facilities are so clean as perfect and nothing can be more!!! I also have stayed in Khaosan Tokyo branches and they are also great as well!!! Khaosan is the best hostel group and always there for you!!!

This hostel is excellent. Everything felt new & clean. The wet tea towels in the kitchen kind of grossed me out though – maybe you could have quick-drying towels that hang up somewhere. Also, the laundry is outside on a balcony, so it was freezing & also raining on me when I was trying to do washing. Don’t count on getting washing done here – I was using the dryers for 3 hours & they were still not drying our clothes. When one load takes 3 hours it's difficult for everyone to get a turn!

In our room of 4, we had a couple stay in one bunk above me. Therefore having 5 people in a room for 4. Someone had pulled out my clothes from washing machine and put them on the floor!

Besides a clean bed and a clean shower, the hostel also provides interesting tips for travellers to Kyoto, such as temple events and once-a-month antique sales.

Very centrally located hostel! A very big hostel, so it can get a little busy.

I´ve Chosen a private room, which was really nice. The strongest point is the cleanliness and location (near to downtown).

I had a great time at the hostel. Not only the facilities were great, but the team also gave us great tips about the city.

Kyoto was amazing to visit and a lot of the reason was due to staying here (and the people I met). It was cheap, in a good location (once I did find it... the directions given were a bit confusing and I'd like to consider myself decent with a map and location-awareness!) Some of the staff seemed a bit... short? But that could have simply been a language barrier thing. They were not rude or anything, but did not come across as welcoming as some other hostels in Japan. Common room was great!

The room smells and the staff werent friendly nor were they unfriendly. Good location though, near the main street of the new part of town and within walking distance of the old part of town.

Brilliant location bang in the centre of Kyoto, staff friendly and one of the best dorm rooms I've stayed in (4bed mixed dorm): room massive, excellent sized safe and beds have good privacy with pull around curtains. Well worth a visit

Nice rooms, shower and bathrooms were first class. Wifi was good throughout the hostel and in the rooms, 4th floor had a nice lounge.
