Its a little bit far from the center, but next to a train station (100m). Everythinelse was perfect. Ow don't forget to bring your own locker. It was the best breakfest that i eat it in all hostels that i went, and cheaper too!

Perfectly clean and beds made, actually there is a lot to like about this hostel except the location. Yes, it only takes about 15mins from your room to the central station but it just doesn't 'feel 'like Amsterdam. Also taxis home after 1pm cost me between 28-35 euro so consider this cost in your budget.

I booked an all female dorm and what is my surprise to see that a boy is sleeping on the same bed as a girl. When I ask to change rooms the staff was very unsympathetic and refused. They said they'd refund the money and put me in a different hotel, but by the time they did that it was 12:30 a.m. and no trains were running to the hotel they booked which was all the way up in Schiphol (22 kms away). This hotel has no concerns for your safety and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND for a woman traveller.

Great! The hostel is new and fancy, the rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. The only problem is the location, since you need to take a train to go to the center of the city, although it is only one station away, and it only takes you 10 minutes to get there.

My group booked 3 beds in a six person dorm. We were split up, and the staff seemed very unconcerned that we had wish to be together.

We booked a 6 bed dorm for 6 people for 3 consecutive nights and were told we would be in the same room together!! Found this very strange as have travelled to many places and never had same problem. There argument was that booking a dorm bed means 'A Bed in A dorm' so its not a place to go if your in a group and want to be in same room.!! After much debate we were given 2 triple rooms and had to pay more money, not very good first impression!

The hostel is one stop away from Amsterdam Central Station, so while the location isn't central, it's really easy to get there. The location itself is in the middle of a business district, it seems. But I felt safe there. The rooms were amazing. They looked and felt like a hotel. My room had a TV, toilet, and a separate room with a shower, and the sink was out in the room for anyone to use. The first night I stayed there my room was INSANELY expensive, over 30 Euro, and absolutely not worth it.

Very nice, clean, spacious rooms. Very well organized hostel. I loved the toilet and the shower in the room. It was very clean and taken care of. I wish the staff would be a little more helpful with the tourist information and the map that is given out is not really good. Otherwise, i had a very nice stay at the hostel and would definitely come back. The breakfast was nice.

Best hostal ever stayed in as far as room quality. The staff was over worked and underpaid. They were always in bad moods but the room was very nice and comfortable. The location was a bit far from the city but worth the accommodations

I had a lovely stay at the Meininger in Amsterdam! We came to the city for Queen's Day so all the central hostels were fully booked or three times more expensive. Meininger offered amazing value for money: the rooms were so clean, staff were really friendly, helpful and happy to go the extra mile for us and other guests. Breakfast is wonderful. The location is not central but there's good transport links nearby; the train to Schiphol airport takes 10 mins. Thank you!

A great place to stay! Very clean and goo prices. The only downside is that it's a very short train ride into downtown.

Very much enjoyed staying here. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good value for money. The rooms are incredibly clean and have all of the necessary facilities. There were a few reviews which discouraged against staying here because of the location, however I found it easy to get to and from and didn't mind that there wasn't anywhere to eat nearby as theres such a great variety of place to eat in the centre of Amsterdam.
