We really enjoyed our stay at the Matahari Lodge and would definately recommend it as it is very good quality for the price you pay (as Malaysian hostels aren't that cheap). It is clean and the staff are friendly and speak very good English, the living room are is quite big and you can watch tv there. You can also get tea and coffee all day which was a bonus. Would stay again. We really enjoyed our stay at the Matahari Lodge and would definately recommend it as it is very good quality for the price you pay (as Malaysian hostels aren't that cheap). My first impression was that the hostel was very clean and quiet! There was no A/C in the room, but I actually was too cold and could have used another blanket. The A/C comes from the hallway-room ventilation. There were no windows in my room but it was perfect for what I needed - somewhere to stay for my one night stopover in KL. My room was also bigger than I thought it would be.My first impression was that the hostel was very clean and quiet! I always stay in this hostel whenever I found myself in KL. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The rooms are basic but very clean w/c is very important for me. Near the train station so you won't have a problem going wherever you fancy. Will definitely refer to my friends.I always stay in this hostel whenever I found myself in KL. Location is excellent, everything is accessible within walking distance.
Staff is smiling and helpful.
We didn't minded the no-window room as it was very quiet.

Location is superb for new arrivals in KL and also for strolling around the CBD. PIN-code entry and CCD keeps unwanted \"guests\" away. The whole hostel is blessed with aircon and facilities are up to par with rest of S.E. Asia. Helpful staff adds to the experience. Not a bad place to stay for a night. Close to some good food, drink, shopping, etc. A little hard to find in the cab and the shared bathroom facilities are a little average. Not a bad place to stay for a night.
