Sort of weird neighbor hood but once you get to the hostel it's really nice! Well worth trying the Indian restaurants in the buildings, just do some research first on how to find the good ones (don't ask the Indians on the ground floor!)

In terms of location, it was okay, but we booked double two bed in one room. Frankly speaking, the bed was not double bed that too small to sleep.

Staff members are very friendly. Towels are provided daily, and sheets are changed and washed daily as well. Peter is helpful with directions and things to do around the area. We were able to store our luggage with him during our last day. The building itself is a little shady with Indians pestering you at the lobby for rooms, but a simple no thanks will get them out of the way. There are multiple currency exchange places downstairs with decent rates. The elevator does take forever!

The owner was very polite and fairly helpful. However, the way the bathroom was set up, water got everywhere. Also, there were bugs. It's an old building, granted, but I've stayed in other hostels in that same building (Chungking Mansion), and the critters weren't as numerous as it was there.

During booking,i didnt expert too much since i cant get any budget hostel. But, it is really good and the staff there very friendly. Maybe, their hostel name sound not so nice, but it is good if compare to some budget hostel at chungking mansion there. Luckily i didnt compare name before book. In conclusion, i will come back to this hostel next time. Thanks aunty.

I've been to HK before but this was my first stay at the notorious Chung King Mansions.Honestly I wasn't expecting much and a little apprehensive upon having to stay here but since other spots were booked up or way too $$$,I just said whatever. Anyway on arrival I met Peter and his wife and they really were so pleasant and extremely helpful, thanks! The rooms were a tad small but offered private bathroom/AC/Wifi and TV.,wow, everything worked too haaha! Elevator was awful though, took way too long!

The owner was really nice, helpful and we felt very welcome. The room is small, but is has a lot of hooks and shelf space, which is a rarity in other hostels. It is not a place to meet other people, but a good one to get some sleep without parties. Our room had two windows for fresh air, a nice hot shower, we got fresh towels every day, I loved the comfy pillows (!), the location is excellent, so we can absolutely recommend it!

More of a budget hotel than a hostel, but that's not a complaint. The owners are wonderful and the Chungking mansion isn't anywhere near as dodgy as guidebooks make it out to be. Great location in Kowloon.

Visitors should not expect much of a Chongking Mansions stay- but it is in an excellent location. My room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable and the fridge, hot water , air-con and TV all worked fine. Long wait for the lift though...I cant compare it to the other guest houses but I would stay here again if I just needed a bed for the night.

Great staff and great location. The wait for the elevator can be a little long at times, but it gets you where you need to go. If you're on a budget I'd say this hostel is a good choice.

The hostel owners, mr. peter ng and wife were extra hospitable and super nice! so heartwarming to stay in a hostel with so kind owners. the room is neat, clean and complete with the basic needs. size of the room is same as we have expected so no disappointment at all. really nice stay at new peking. what may be bothersome are the neighboring guests at other hostels within chungking mansion.

We arrived at the hostel, realising that the room was not available, yet. (We were supposed to check in at 12PM) We were placed, temporary, in a room which the bed and pillows did not look clean. We had decided to stay in a hotel nearby. However, by cancelling means we need to pay for the first night - we did not argue much as I really do not wish to stay. as of 12.40PM, i.e. the time we paid for cancellation - the room was still not available.

The hotel room was extremely small and I had no window. When you were opening the entrance door (that wasn't completely opened since the room was too small) you couldn't access the bathroom. Outside the building I have been several times approached by Indians that did not let me go. They were trying to sell me drugs and to force me to follow them (and when you have your luggage with you it's annoying). The staff was nice but they made me pay immediately cash.I don't think I am going to be back.

Our room was very very small, I've never seen such a tiny room, but it was very clean and the location was just perfect. The people around the Chungking Mansions were annoying but you just have to ignore them, and then everything is alright.Peter is very kind and helps you with everything.Strong Wifi! For expensive Hongkong, I would book this hostel again.
