Nice hostel, centrally located. Had a private room. Was basic, but hey, it's a hostel. My boyfriend said a mouse touched his foot while brushing his teeth. Luckily, I didn't see one. Breakfast is basic (watermelon and toast w/coffee). Overall, if you are looking to stay in a HOSTEL, it's a good one. Sometimes when people review these places it seems they're expecting a 5-star hotel. It's basic and met my needs. Wish the AC and wifi worked better.

I loved the guesthouse except for one thing - bedbugs!! I stayed at the 4-bed female dorm in the 2nd floor. After 3 nights I had anywhere from 20-30 bites on my arms and legs. Silly me for enduring it but there you go. Hopefully they can fix that. If they do then there's no reason I won't stay here again. =)

Everything at this place is pretty cool except the internet connection. It's quite slow when more people using it. So do your internet stuff before you arrive.

Lovely staff, the building has an old colonial charm about it. Rooms were clean as were the shared bathrooms. Basic breakfast for free (with milk!). Close to little India/ old Penang/ hawker stalls at night.

Comfortable and safe guesthouse. Most of all, I love breakfast. If I go to Penang again, I would not mind stay here.

Downside was the internet which was very slow (even the hardwired computers) and frequently failed altogether. For that reason I wouldn't stay here again. Beautiful place though.

Situated in the heart of Georgetown, this place had a great location and friendly staff who were always willing to help with our queries. We booked a double ensuite bedroom which was basic but clean and the bed was comfy enough. I would definitely return!

The room is dimly lit. The air-cond was not cold even the temperature has been adjusted to very low.

Actually I stayed here only 1 day in the mixed dorm. The location is perfect, just in the middle of the Old George Town, and only 15 minutes walk to both KOMTAR/Jetty if you want to find busses to other destinations. Drawback was the security, the room has no lock access. For every hostel I visited, I always entered PIN or tap my access to be able to enter my room, but it has nothing. Nothing was lost, I just feel not secured. The atmosphere was okay, i feel the OLD Penang inside

The Hostel was nice and the Staff Were good the lady who was there during the day and the evening and night Receptionist,However i found one member of staff the guy during the day to be very rude and needs to take a lesson in people skills.Apart from him i found the Hostel to be Good!

Nice place to stay. Rooms are a bit small but the atmosphere of 100 years old house is worth it.
