The one good thing was it's location to Waikiki. No elevator, so I hauled my bags up two flights of stairs. Had the private, but there wasn't any soap in the bathroom or a drying rack/dishcloth for the dishes. Surrounded by huge hotels, behind an iron gate in a small back alley. The common area is right outside the windows, so shouts from the rowdier residents, as well as car doors slamming from the neighboring hotels loading area, were heard all night.

Staff very helpful and really enjoyed the trip to Northern Beaches organised through the hostel -great value and heaps of fun. Rooms clean and tidy and beds comfortable. Shower had stained tiles so looked a bit dirty, however it was certainly clean, hence reduced score for cleanliness. Thank you and will visit again and stay.

Warm blankets should be offered to guests in the cold season.

Location is awesome! Right around the corner to Waikiki Beach, ABC stores are close, some bars and Subway etc is close as well. Rooms are big, beds could be more comfortable. Our bathroom had molt on the ceiling and would need some renovation. But its a hostel, so I don't expect anything anyway. I didn't try breakfast but my roomie said hard boiled eggs, oats, granolabars, coffee and tea was the usual breakfast. I recommend it as u meet lots of ppl and its super close to the beach!

There was never any toilet paper in the rest rooms. Also, the floors were dirty. I seen roches several times. The staff is good. But the place can do better. I had a lot of fun but thats because I was in Hawaii.

Had a fantastic stay!!! Our private room had all of the facilities we needed. The location is perfect and right beside the beautiful Waikiki beach. We went on a couple of the trips that were organised in the hostel (diamond head and north shore) both were really enjoyable, good fun and ensured we saw fantastic parts of the island, we even got to see a huge green sea turtle which was a big highlight for me! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great stay

To be honest I didnt like.. the staff during the night its so rude and the hostal its not clean at all. The kitchen doesnt have enought space to cook and there is not plates and things to use.. Waikiki Beachside costs more but all people and I saw that its much better.

For my first time in a hostel this was great! I will for sure consider a hostel for my next traveling experience. The staff were friendly, had a great sense of humor (very appreciated by the way), gave great advise on things to do and food to eat. Fellow travelers were friendly and I felt comfortable the entire time I was there.

Awesome day trip to the North Shore! Staff was friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and suitable. Bathroom could definitely use an update but it was clean! Couldn't ask for a better location. I would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was useful and friendly. They have cheap guided tours, they allow you to use their boogie boards, and snorkel stuff for free. The people staying here were from all around the world. The only negative part was that we had 8 people to a bathroom. The shower was the worst pressure ive ever had, and the sink needed some drano. For the value, this place wasn't too bad at all, and I loved how it was so close to the beach and the bus stops. I'd stay here again.

I was only here two nights and I didn't really interact much with the staff or anything. I was in and out the whole 2 days so I didn't really get a chance to truly experience the hostel. They seem like a good place but my stay was pretty average. They do take groups out to various places every day for cheaper than you might do a tour group. They are close to Waikiki but towards the end of the beach.

Enjoyed my stay very much. The place was well staffed. The common erea was well located with good kitchen facilities. Did not like that we only had one sheet to cover with it got chilly during the night and I had to put on sweater to sleep in.

Great Hostel, excellent location, Great Staff. Even though my booking wasn't in their system at first, The staff did everything they could to accommodate me and my wife, their everyday tours are awesome, great value for the price ,I want to send a what's up from NY to Grandpa ,one of the coolest dudes I've met in my travels , the Professor and all the staff...I will be back.. These guys know how a Hostel is suppose to be and operate. great fun time and everyone has to book The Polynesian Aloha.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was slightly dirty, with the bedding from the former guest still on the bed. The hostel was easy access to the airport.

I had a great stay at the Polynesian, all of the staff were great and the day trips they organise are great. It has its ups and downs but for the price and location you can't beat it.

...due to the location and the price of accommodation in Honolulu good price (on the other hand hostel earns on the young travelers who have no other choice); if you have internet access on your smartphone it's going to be 100% faster and more reliable than a hostel Wifi for sure! No Wifi in the rooms; breakfast = 1 mini muffin & cup a tee at 8 am; breakfast never ready on time; first come first served; one bathroom one toilet for 8 people; one of the worst i've been to...
