Purple nest is so big that it is somewhat impersonal, it was nothing special. But the bar crawls are really fun!!! Its also in a really good location.

Their sister hostel is the red nest. They at both pretty bumpin. If the weather is nice, bayou may want to consider red nest instead solely because they have a common area that is outside on the top floor, which is right next to the bar.

I loved this place. It was in a great location. The hostel was very clean, lively, and had a friendly atmosphere. The organized activities helped with meeting people and getting to know the area. As a woman traveling alone, I valued the staff and their ever willingness to help make sure all were enjoying themselves and safe. Everyone was respectful and informative. Thanks to Duncan and the entire staff. I would recommend this hostel to anyone fortunate enough to visit this beautiful city.

Overall par for a really large hostel. Most of the staff were nice and the facilities upstairs were always clean (downstairs was hit and miss). Didn't like that they charge for breakfast and close the kitchen and common areas. Also, they advertise a bar but it was closed in BOTH Purple and Red two of the three nights I was there. Don't advertise something if you're not going to have it. Location was great though and the beds were comfortable.

Hostel is great. Great staff, especially Mirna (even if I never got an invite out :-) ), Sandra, and Idli. Great location, great facilities (maybe get a proper oven in the kitchen, but hey, I think I could count the number of hostels with proper ovens (apart from NZ) on both hands... Walking and tapas tours with Kristina were excellent. Was drunk by 7pm on "agua de Valencia" . €5 bar crawl was good value too.

A big, impersonal hostel. Had to show a card with proof of your stay every time you came in. Not great for socialising. Bar was good though. Kitchen closed before 8am, that was lame. Very clean though, good facilities.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi there! Many thanks for you comments. As we are a big hostel, there is always people hanging out in the common room, so it is pretty easy to find someone to socialize with. We are sorry if it was not the case when you were here. The kitchen is open from 8am to 2am. We just close it to do a proper cleaning. Sorry for any inconvenience. Since we are a big hostel, security is really important for us. That is why we asked you to show your hostel card every time you came in. Thanks again for your review. We will keep it in mind so we can work on those things and improve them. Staff Purple Nest Hostel

Everything about this hostel just works! The staff are amazing :-) Even managed to get them listening to Australian music!

I had a lousy first night because the bed's ladder was squeaking. But as soon as we took it off everything was fine. So my recommendation: Always beware of ladders!

I was suprised how clean, comfortable and colourful a hostel can be. I really like it.I think I have nothing to complain about. The bar tours weren't that good, but that's a thing which happens everywhere, whether in Australia or Spain.

Stay was mostly detracted by the group of obnoxious noisy students staying in the hostel. Being a bit big it doesn't have the community feeling of a smaller hostel. The facilities were top notch for the pricat least one and they have the best showers-at least on the third floor. Mist of the staff were great but a couple could have done with a smile.

Good location, free wi-fi in the lobby. If you can - go there for Las Fallas. Breakfast is not included.

This is a very big hostel! 5 floors! But the staff was friendly when I spoke with them. I had to switch rooms halfway through and the man working was apologetic. The kitchen was big and well-stocked with pans/dishes, but there were ants. The rooms are not great--they are painted depressing colors and small, but the common areas are fine. The location is centralized, and even though you have to walk a few minutes to get to the Metro, it is still easy to get anywhere.

This hostel had just about everything you could want in the way of facilities (although their Wifi didn't work in the rooms upstairs). The location was good too, and the staff was nice and helpful, but it still didn't have a very homey feeling to me, probably because it was so big. I prefer hostels that don't feel so impersonal. I also didn't think the bathrooms were that clean, and they lock up the kitchen area at 2 AM, which means you can't get to your food when you come back late!

I really enjoyed my stay at Purple Nest Hostel. The staff were very helpful, the place clean, and great atmosphere. It is in a nice location as well. There is a bar as well as a nice kitchen. The common area is nice to meet others staying in the hostel. I will definitely come back!
