Hostel feels run down and could do with a lick of paint. Staff were friendly at this hostel.

There were no lockers for our bags and our door didn't shut propely (8 bed dorm), the roomates never locked it either. This Malay guy was stalking my friend n creeping us out and he actually got into our room and sat on her bed and woke her up at 2am! We were so scared we left a night early! Also there's nothing to do there, it's all chinease and the town is dirty and stinks!

I arrived at 7PM one day and had my leather sandals stolen by next morning. So, I left and even lost one night that I had already pay. In my way out I asked to pay to make a call to KL to ask for secure one bed for me on the hostel and they didn't let me use the phone after I left my room and they would rent again. So, I request for them please email the hostel saying that I would be arriving late and they 'DID NOT SENT THE EMAIL" . This was my worse hostel experience.

One of the nicest and cleanest hostels I've stayed in and the facilities were great; huge tv with DVDs, free use of the computers, a nice bar and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful, just don't ask them for directions! Also the food was really good.My problem with the place was that the layout wasn't very sociable and it's expensive for the area.

This hostel is in a great location with excellent services (free internet and a real breakfast included!) The all-in-one hostel and bar situation gets old after one night when you realize that the thumping base keeps going till 2am. That said the staff is very helpful and its a great value. I'd highly recommend it.

Location: excellent. It is located right in the heart of Georgetown, Penang`s historic area. From here you can do the whole historic walk and access most of the places. HOwever, the beach is 1 hour away on the bus. Hostel very clean and with A/C. Only 3 toilets w/showers in it for each gender but since most of the time you`re outside, it didn`t seem to be a big deal. Nice idea of separating the beds with high walls and curtains to give each person their own privacy within a dorm.

It was a joke building and interior. Although the room was narrow, it could be beautiful. No less than seven places were bit by the mosquito at one night. A cocktail, billiards, etc. were pleasant atmosphere in the bar night. But there were those [ no ] who are dancing. They were except and a healthy atmosphere. The mosquito was also in the toilet and several places were stabbed. If it can do, I will want you to put a deodorizer and an insecticide on a toilet.

thank god to me nothing happened but I heard from two fellow travellers who where there that they got robbed from their dormbed. And once I had a drunk traveller trying to get into my bed. The staff saw this drunk guy and just let him in. They should have either let him sleep downstairs on the couch or help him get into his dorm instead of let him wonder around at 6 am and molesting other travellers! I had to kick him out!!!

Excellent clean hostel right in the middle of the backpackers area and right at the street corner where all the hawker food carts come out at night. About a ten minute walk from Komtar complex. Breakfast with included eggs was excellent. Beds were clean and new and the sleeping pods are fantastic. Music is definitely too loud into the night because they aim to turn the hostel lobby and kitchen area into a lounge of sorts at night. Otherwise great experience!

Very good hostel at a very good place. I like the privacy you have with curtains and light at every bed. It is clean and the staff is friendly. And there is a good breakfast included (more than a toast)! The only confusing thing was that I had to change the room two times altough I booked in advanced.

It is too old and not clean. Bathroom was so dirty. I did not feel like using it. Some staffs one old lady at reception and one male staff was kinda rude and arrogant. I did not like the way they talked to me. very bossy. And Charlie, who introduced himself as guest relation is very willing to entertain and help us, but sometimes, I felt quiet annoyed. Sorry to say, but he should know how to respect guests' privacy and limit himself. Sometimes, I felt so forced to do something and followed.

It's a really nice hostel and even if you are in a dorm you have your privacy because they are like box with a curtains so when you close this it's like a single room with your light, light socket, mirror...there is a bar on the ground floor and there is always music. The breakfast is omellette and toast with jams so enough!

All in all it was agood hostel. I liked the bed here coz u have some privacy... But there is very loud music until three or four am in the morning even there were just 3 or 4 people outside having a drink. So i dont know why necessary. So if u wanna sleep its the wrong place for u to stay.
