Despite the good reveiws I arrived at this hostel to be met by a few old men who seem to be the only people present in the entire place. The owner seemed nice yet the room was awful! Very dirty, stank and felt as if someone else lived there and had just movd out for the night. Great location opposite palacebut definitey not worth it!! Slept in my own sheets and left as soon as I could.

Great staff, friendly and helpful in the extreme. Chad and his wife make guests feel at home. The location could not be better, right across the street from the palace and around the corner from the river promenade. With all that said, the place could do with a whole lot of elbow grease. Cleanliness was sub-par, and the furnishings were worn.

The staff was really nice, but not impressed with my small room above the bar--kind of feels like an afterthought than a guesthouse. Room was clean enough, but didn't feel too homely. It's really more of an Irish bar with some older expats hanging around. Location is very central though, right by the river, palace, and busy tourist area.

The pub seems to attract a pretty boring crowd of 50+ males. Not really a guesthouse to meet likeminded backpackers. Location is good.

I enjoyed my stay at Rory's. The staff were friendly, the location was good, and the wifi worked well. Overall nothing too flashy, but if you just want a decent place to stay this one will do you well.
