Can't quite decide about this place. The rooms are good, location is good if you want Sanlitun and I met some great people. That said, treating the entire common area like a bar and not allowing people to have food or drinks there, even outside, if really annoying. Some of my friends in the room were even on the other side of the fence and the woman yelled at them for having a different beer. Also, the wifi if ibad during the day and at night when it finally works they turn it off for no reason

I will definitely stay at Sanlitun again! The staff is very helpful and the location is great. I like to have access to a kitchen but it seems pretty standard to have private kitchens in China so I can't really hold that against them. The bathrooms could be a little cleaner.

The staff and the details like the free metro maps, advises about posible scams, the activities organized like the dumpling and hot pot nigths were completely usefull and fun. However the only problem was an issue with the electricity power in the 4th floor, that broke a couple of times (although staff went quicky to fix it each time)

Stayed in shaired bath and private bath room on 2 visits. The STAFF is the strongest point of this hostel as they will go out of their way to help and are friendly about it. Very valuable translations of directions and addresses etc into Chinese. Staff English is good. Private bath rooms better deal than the shaired bath as get hot water maker, TV and new paint job. Good location. Problems, one bath for whole floor of shaired bath rooms, one water heater for building, expensive food beer.

I had a great long weekend staying at this hostel, the staff are very friendly and keen to help out with planning things to see and do. The location is pretty good and restaurant serves quite a lot of western food which can be comforting. The rock hard beds are certainly an acquired taste but overall would recommend friends stay at this hostel,

Very nice hostel, staff are very helpful. The location was not ideal, about a 10 min walk from a subway station though. I only stayed there one night, but I would probably stay there again.

Great location! Stay 5 times before. At night, I went to Sanlitun bar street (not for tourist one). Kokomo is one of the best disco. Ask staff for more clubs information. Last winter I ski at Beijing, awesome and cheap. Next time I will swim at Olympic pool. Definitely I will come back again.

The hostel was in a great location between a subway station and shopping/bar street. Travelers on a budget may not love this place because there is no public kitchen space and you are not allowed to bring your own food in to eat at the tables. THe food from their restaurant is decent, but quite pricey. This was just a run of the mill hostel. On the plus side, there were daily drink or food specials (However, the day we wanted to take advantage of the pizza special, there was no pizza)

Located in Sanlitun, that pretty much says it all. It's close to the embassies, relatively expensive, and Sanlitun is very posh. Hence, expect the traveling crowd to be more of the Starbuck's sort jetting from one place to another rather than eating local food. Having said this, it's always a safe bet!
