The hostel is great! What sets it aside from others is the well designed kitchen, good appliances, etc.We had a twin private. The mattress was NOT good but I think it was the metal bedframe. (I would change that, if I owned it. Everything was clean and everyone there, workers and guests alike seemed to be very happy to be alive in fabulous Hawaii!Hi to Joshua, who is such a lovely young man and works at the desk.

This was a great place in Waikiki. One thing to note is that Hawaii tax adds about 1/3 to the cost of the room that is not shown on hostel world. Also, the pictures are a bit misleading, but still definitely worth the visit.

I was only planning on staying here for two days, and ended up staying for 10. All of the staff are phenomenal and really do go out of their way to make sure you feel at home and enjoy yourself.

Excellentf friendly staff, killer location, clean rooms. Beds a little uncomfortable but not a big deal. Love the privacy curtains on the beds. Great price! My only complaint is that sharing one bathroom with up to 5 other people is a pain. It\'d have been nice if there was some sort of separate community bathroom on the property somewhere but it\'s a minor complaint. Would def stay again!

Thanks for a great stay! The eye-candy (hot hostel guys on staff) was a bonus, very considerate and quiet guests until the rude group checked in at the end of my stay (not much can be done fo poor manners). I would stay again. Mahalo & Aloha.

Lots of bugs and small creatures. No refrigerator. The private room was inside a dorm. the wifi couldn't reach inside the room. the pillows and the bed were very uncomfortable. one of the most expensive and worst hostels during our 6 months around the world trip..

Owner Comment (Show)
I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. Generally, people who enjoy this hostel do so for the shaded and open courtyard and positive social atmosphere. Someone who wants to keep to themselves probably won't like it here. We have ample refrigerators for guests to use off of the courtyard near the common kitchen and we have very good wifi reception at our wifi "Surfing" bar. Our kitchen and other "common" areas are optimized for people to mix and enjoy the social aspects of hosteling. If someone doesn't want this, we are not a good "fit" for their travelling needs. Mark,

As it is in the middle of the town, it's very noisy. Our double room was only accessible by a dorm. The staff was mostly friendly, had a good knowledge about the bus system but could not help us with other accomodation and hikes. The hostel organized an italian night with pasta which was great.

Love this location and have stayed here many times. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The weekly BBQ is a great deal. They are really working hard to improve the hostel and I noticed it was cleaner this visit as well.

I really enjoyed my stay! The Manager Jim and awesome Concierge/Hostess with the Mostest Robin we're very helpful and fun, & I immediately was made to feel like one of the family. Great Staff & Guests, and open-air courtyard made it an awesome place to stay, meet people & hang out in Waikiki.

Very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff who were great to have a drink with. The location was excellent as it is right in the centre of Waikiki, and the buses are close by so it's easy to get to all the beaches around Oahu. There was some construction going on at the time but it wasn't an issue, we just had to use a side door to enter/exit during the day time. Security door at front entrance, lockable dorm rooms and large lockers in each room (BYO lock). The place was alway very clean.
