I've been to this hostel before, and like the last time I really enjoyed my visit. It's not your typical hostel; they're so patient and kind with each guest, they enjoy getting to know/hanging out with the guests, and it's just a really nice atmosphere. It's good if you're like me, travelling a long time and tired of the usual anonymity of hostel life. They plan outings & movie nights, & atmosphere lends well to meeting other guests.
Like another reviewer said, it feels like crashing at a friends place. Nothing speial about the hostel, but nothing wrong with it either. I loved the location! Very easy to get to the airport and hop the BTS to anywhere else in the city. If you've never been to Bangkok before, traffic sucks and it's best to stick to the sky train (BTS) or the subway.
The guy at the front desk was helpful. It was very helpful that they emailed me a video for directions to get to the front door. That made me feel much safer on my first night in Bangkok. A good place if you are looking for something convenient to the airport. If you are looking for the action, then go to Khao San Rd.
I really enjoyed my stay at Siam Journey. I liked the atmosphere a lot; it was comfortable, and communal. And I really appreciate all the tips and advice Shane gave me for my trip! Thank you, see you when I'm back in BKK!
This is a pretty standard inner-city hostel, with a communal area and information about sightseeing/events. The dorm rooms were clean, and there were shared bathrooms downstairs (and I found I didn't have to wait, one was usually free). The friendly staff and other visitors made my stay at this hostel enjoyable, which is what most people want from hostel accommodation.
Great hostel! Super friendly staff, and the location is quite neat (nestled into a community, giving it a very 'local' feel; however, the alleyways are somewhat dark and some may find it uncomfortable).
We booked in here for its proximity to the airport links at the end of our trip, but wish we'd stayed here for all our time in Bangkok. Really friendly, great atmosphere and a great way to end our time in south east asia. Next to a great food market, and just enough off the main roads to get a feel for more residential areas of Bangkok.
Excellent place, great athmosphere, great location not only close to city centre/ main attrcations but also some off the beaten track places and party venues. Recommended David from HU
Definately a hostel with character! I wasn't even disappointed that there wasn't a swimming pool there!;) Perfect for people who want to see more than just Khao San Road. I'll probably see you in August guys! X
Great little hostel. Friendly vibe. Would definatly stay again.
The staff were very helpful in planning everyday activities and lovely to hang out with. The atmosphere of the hostel is very chill and a great place to just sit back and talk to new strangers. They have plenty of locker space for your items. The location is a bit difficult to find at first, but after walking back and forth a couple of times it is not so bad. It is located very close to an excellent food street that sells tons of excellent, cheap street food. Very close to Phaya Thai BTS.
Very clean hostel. Close to the big shopping malls in the centre of Bangkok, though not good for someone hoping to be around Khoa San Road. Generally not good for anyone hoping to get drunk and have a good time, the hostel was extremely quiet though if this is what you want it will be perfect. Staff were very helpful in telling us about good places to go.

Very good value for money. Rooms very clean, comfy beds, and the AC is really nice when you're sweating like a pig after a day at the temples. Breakfast is 2 dollars for people staying in dorms (free for private rooms). Nice fresh fruit. The swimming pool is also a big plus, nice dipping into the cool water. It is covered so you can't really sunbathe, but I guess otherwise the water would get too hot.
The location of the hostel is good. However, it is very difficult for the backpackers to find the hostl. Thus, it is strongly suggested to include more detailed direction at the hostel's profile web-page.
Awesome stay with cool residents, a great staff, and perfect advice on what to do with free time in the city.

Good location, lovely and clean rooms, Shane is an absolute champ and will help you out with whatever you need, will definitely stay there again when I'm in Bangkok
I loved this place! I felt like I was home when I was here. The people are amazing, the location is perfect and the vibe is spot on. Thankyou Siam Journey, you're amazing.
I liken the experience of staying at Siam Journey to visiting a friends place… sleeping in their spare room and hanging out in their lounge room as a space to meet other travelers and formulate plans for future grand adventures. The hostel is small, and has a charming small community like feel. Guests come to stay for a day or two, and invariably end up extending their stays, as guesthouses like this can be hard to come by - it’s a testament to the staffs willingness to go above and beyond.
