Our private room was not a private room. It was partitioned from the dorm by a door in a three quarter screen, We had to share two bathrooms with some 40 people in the dorm. We could hear every cough ,sneeze . breaking wind etc. I must say that many people particularly the under 20's who overuse the words "Like" and "Awesome" seemed to think it was awesome. I spend between10 and 11 months a year traveling and this is the worst value for money I've had in 20 years.

The location was nice.. Great breakfast, and affordable amenities, especially drinking water. The main problem I had here was some members of the staff. A couple of them were very nice, but some of them seemed to regard me as a nuisance. I understand working with tourists ignorant of ur city can be frustrating. But I paid money to stay there. My job's a pain in the ass. So when I pay as much as I did for such a puny room, at least a lit of courtesy is cool. I'm a paying guest, not a mosquito.

A delightful staff and well situated in the center of Singapore. Good value for money but i was a little disappointed to see that when i booked a 4bed dorm room it was actually 4 double beds (8beds) and that the room was open to other rooms where 40+others slept. Bathroom and shower lines are are a bit much with only 4rooms to share for 40+guests, but cant complain to much for it all was harmonic and peaceful between all the backpackers and faculty.

Great Location near Sultan Mosque, not too far from the MRT. Breakfast is also nice. Downside is that the dorm is really huge and all the privates are attached to it.

Excellent location, close to Sultan Mosque and Malay Cultural Centre, weekend street performance right outside hostel, first hand experience of multi-cultural Singapore. Easy to get to by MRT. Nice shopping nearby Haji Lane and Bugis malls. Eateries plentiful. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint: : beds layout a bit too crowded.

Booked a "private room" however one of the walls was only door height facing into the dorm so it was not really private and was quite noisy. One member of staff was particularly grumpy and unhelpful and we felt uncomfortable approaching her for help or advice. Good wifi and showers however if you are looking for a private room I would not recommend.

For my decade long backpacking career, this was definitely one of best hostels I've stayed. There are all the services one needs plus wonderful atmosphere.

I booked a private and it wasn't exactly private. It's a great location right near Haji Lane, but the privates weren't fully enclosed so you could hear what was going on in the big room adjourning. It was quite noisy. The fan and air-con didn't really do a great job as it had to cool the whole room. The room could barely fit the double bed. Would not recommend this place unless your keen to rough it out.

Bed Bugs. Need I say more. I will. This is probably one of the worst places I have stayed at in awhile. The "private" room has only a thin wall separating the small space + a room full of at least 25 bunk beds. The divider only provides a little barrier to the chill made by the AC that is cranked at night. Maybe to discourage the critters? There are at least 50 people sharing 4 stalls that contain both the toilet + shower. Sorry about the rant but hopefully this helps others

We booked a private room, but as there was no wall above the door, leading directly out in a dorm, it should hardly be sold as a "private room". Staff was grumpy and, and so were we after a few sleepless nights. Although the location and the breakfast was great, I would not recommend this place.
