It is a good last resource option. The location is excellent, less than 10 minutes to Kyoto Station. Security concern: Everybody can comes in and out of the building without any kind of validation: key, password, card. Something weird, is that always the common area smelled like spicy food, I never saw anybody cooking that kind of food that justifies the smell. The shower uses an odd system of push a handle to get a water flow for 20 seconds, then push it again and over again.

The staff seemed disinterested and resentful. Restrictions were many and facilities were few. DO NOT STAY HERE

There is absolutely no sing of the hostel outside, which makes it very very difficult to find if you do nit have gps or map (even with map it is challenge if you expect to see a sign)... Fridge could be bigger - for so many people it seems to be rather small. There is a bus stop almost in front of the hostel and actors the road (other direction). Supermarket couple of minutes walk away. Closest metro is Juno station and it is cca 7 minutes walk.

Only stayed for one night. Very cramped room, small hostel. Friendly staff. I realised I'd left a small bag back at the hostel after moving to another one (because they were fully booked during cherry blossom season) and they responded to my email quickly including a photo of my bag so I didn't waste time returning all the way in case it wasn't my bag!

This hostel was by far the worst we stayed in during our trip. The only reason we stayed here for one night was that every other place in the whole of Kyoto was completely booked. The rooms and facilities were very dirty, with old sheets, lost clothes and rubbish underneath the beds and used tampons on the floor behind the toilet. They don't provide their own wifi, but instruct you to use the free city wifi of Kyoto. For this price, the hostel was a complete rip-off.
