Staff hard to communicate with. Hostel gives claustrophobia, but that might be typical for Hong Kong. 24 hour reception, but not awake staff in reception. The surroundings to the hostel are scary and you should probably not walk alone up the stairs. The smallest bed I ever seen- turn around and you're on the floor! Overall an okay place, but nothing special about it.

I stayed at Chung King Mansion before in 2011,it s o.k. and resonable price. But the last week I stayed at Taiwan Hostel in Chung King Mansion. There was very bad place I never seen. The room was really different with the picture that show me on website , very very dirty I stayed with the big cockroach that live under the washbasin and very hot like in a sauna because air-conditioner did not work,I told this problem with the owner but they said "nothing else they can do" ***so so bad***

Hostel is ok if you travel with somebody else, but if you are a single lady is not the maximum... Chunking mansion is a crowded not so nice market.. Some rooms of the hostel are in a block that is located at the end of this market. Basic single room is like a prison room.. not larger than one meter... 4 people room has so little bed that is impossible to fit two people in.. But standard single room or double room is ok.... To visit Hk is very convenient, near to subway and to Ferry pier

This place is pretty average for Chungking mansions. However, the owner was rather rude and would not allow us to leave our bags after check out, we had a ferry in the afternoon but still wanted to go and do some things in the city, it was only after he saw a white face in the party did his mood change immediately, as well as repeatedly ask for a good review on the website. I would suggest that the friendly service be extended to guests of all backgrounds in the future.

I was put on the eleventh floor with no towels or soap. Check out was an adeventure as I cam down to the third floor where Tai Wan hotel located and had to wait 45 minutes for some one to show on the reception. Bad experience in every way....
