he i would liked my stay more if the shower had been cleaned and the kitchen was allways dirty as well. The cattle was not working and i couldn`t find a peeler for my carrots. But the staff was really nice to me and i had my room 2 nights alone. And there was no breakfast included.

Nice and clean hostel. Kitchen gets a bit crowded and not enough toilets/showers, but room was good and so was the bed. Liked the bar/restaurant downstairs very much!

It's worth to stay here since this hostel is in the center. The staff help a lot when you need some info. :)

We were made very welcome by the guy on the desk who had good advice on where to eat - the Brunswick itself.

Tassie Backpackers could be a really great hostel if they improved their standard of cleanliness. There is one unisex bathroom with 4 shower cubicles, 2 of which had blocked drains due to a build-up of slimy mounds of hair. As a consequence, water was flooding out onto the bathroom floor, making it feel as though u had to trudge through Typhoid River every time u entered the bathroom. Bedroom doors need some serious oiling & some curtains to block out the light in the morning wouldn't go astray.

Forgot to give my key deposit back but refunded my credit card after calling them. Staff were very friendly. sheets and bedding was very clean bathrooms could be improved hard to regulate water from very hot to cold. Overall I was very happy and I would stay again after all it is a bacpackers not the Ritz Hotel.

Dirty place to compare hostels in other cities in australia. l was going to change hostel but l heard they are all same. Front desk staff is friendly but they work in garden is weird and just run after girls.

This is the most horrible hostel that I stayed. The staff was confused and firstly arranged me in a different dorm that I booked. The bathrooms were horrible and there was a bad smell when we passed through. The showers had great problem that they cannot be adjusted the temperature right, either extremely hot and too cold. The kitchen was completely dirty and nobody clean the basin. The space in the bedroom was very limited and there was not adequate support of the mattress. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Pretty good hostel. Nice big public area and there did seem to be enough showers and toilets to go round. Room's were cramped and there were no wire baskets to lock things in like I've seen at other hostels. But, great staff, good energy and lots of people there. Overall thoroughly recommend.

Quite a bit dingy. Bathrooms etc were bad. No real water pressure and it was either scalding hot or cold - no in between. Staff were really nice though.

The staff were lovely and helpful! The bathrooms were a bit dodgy. Four showers, three that worked, and only one with hot water that had a blocked plug hole. The toilet was also blocked several times. Staff made up for it though!

One toilet & shower for everyone in the right wing is not enough! Rooms were very cramped & hot Reception was not open at check out time.

Rooms are very clean and pretty spacious. Sadly most of them overlook a courtyard that exaggerates every sound made in it, even just a quiet conversation! When we stayed they only had one decent shower, the rest were pretty much unusable, which was frustrating! Staff were pretty friendly, especially the bar staff. They tried to organise a couple of events but they weren't very successful. Not a bad little hostel that did the job but not amazing.
