The free airport pickup (with minimum 2 nights stay) was very nice and I really liked that the staff was so friendly and helpful. The dorms were okay, too. Maybe some people would have a problem with the bathroom because you cannot lock the shower and the shower is in one (big!) room with the toilet (which you can lock!), but there is at least a curtain and actually nobody comes in when you're having a shower. All in all a very nice place with a lot of nice people and located in a good area.

Amazing vibe at this place and the staff are the best. Was mislead in terms of how close the place is to Venice Beach but the price and character of the place easily made up for that.

After intending to stay only 3 days, I stayed 15 nights! One of the best hostels I've stayed at in 13 years: a great area, better than touristic Santa Monica, with everything close-by; staff are awesome, so friendly, down-to-Earth, helpful, just real chill people; clean, facilitated kitchen (cleaned each day); homely, unlike standard soulless/expensive hostels, thus it doesn't need HUGE signs outside - a house number & street name is all you need if you're smart :P Thanks for a great 2 weeks! :)

I was anxious after reading reviews online, but decided I should try anyway. It was awesome. The other people in the house were great. A fifteen minute walk to the beach. The closest comparison would be to staying at a party house, without the party.

A big old house with a great salon and a big kitchen. Very easy-going staff, if you need help, hey will help you! It is a bit humid and some heating more can be necessary in winter, but apart from that, the hostel is cool. Of course it is a Hostel, we are not talking of average hotel services! Anyway a cheap, sufficiently clean and relaxed place to stay in L.A. Thank you VBH! Mattia

Nice hostel, great helpful staff. Good value for money. Quite a long walk from the main part of Venice Beach though.

We are a young couple, and we have booked a private room with a "private barthroom": the beds were awful, our room and the common kitchen were dirty, and the worst thing was that the so called "private barthroom" was simply a WC and a bath tub IN THE BEDROOM, IT WAS NOT ANOTHER ROOM, so THERE WERE NOT SEPARATING WALLS BETWEEN the bedroom and the "bathroom"!!

Although I stayed only for a night, I really liked my stay. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I'll certainly stay at Venice Beach Hostel when I come back to Venice.

I enjoyed to stay at your hostel, as it had a cozy and nice atmosphere. Moreover, I liked to have the breakfast included and I loved the Christmas dinner. Thanks a lot for all your help!

Very peaceful and family sized Venice's hostel located around 15 minutes walk from the beach. Great free wifi access everywhere in the house. That really looks like a usual home instead of a true hostel. Max around 25/30 beds I believe. Near Los Angeles LAX main airport and Marina del Rey. No curfew and kitchen very available because of so few people. Managers are here just to keep an eye and hardly ever bother you. Cheap price, good value, one of my best experience so far. I do will come back.

Weird place! No one said hardly anything and the staff did not accept the Hostelworld price until a few hours later. There was not a sign for the hostel so I was confused at first. No lockers and no keys, not even for the front door. I would not stay here again. I recommend Surf City hostel instead!

This hostel isn't your average check in, use the facilities and check out affair. It's more like a house share with rooms, lounge, kitchen etc and everyone getting into the spirit of the occasion. I stayed longer than planned because I simply had no desire to leave! Ian the owner is a really decent bloke as are all the staff. I was here during Thanksgiving what a meal they laid on! If you're looking for good value hostel in a great location with a fantastic atmosphere then you've found it.

This is the friendliest hostel I have ever stayed at. I felt very welcome when I walked in the front door the first night because of the incredibly helpful staff, the staff is always there to help out with any problems you might have. You make a lot of friends because of this friendly atmosphere and I have been to a lot of activities with my new friends. The location is also really good, just a 15-20 minute walk to the lovely Venice Beach! I highly recommend The Venice Beach Hostel!

It looks more like a grandma house than a hostel. No security: no locker, nobody checking after midnight. We cant even lock the bathroom for the shower which only has a curtain! I wouldnt recommend that place although it was alright

We really enjoyed the stay here. The double room is quite huge and has its own bathroom with a big bathtube. Venice Beach is a 20 minutes walk but buses are driving there as well. To get from or to LAX, one can take the Big Blue Bus 3 for only 1 Dollar!!

The worst hostel I have ever been in. Room was disgusting - bugs, stained carpet, stained toilet. Staff made me really uncomfortable with their comments and they gave us totally inaccurate information about travel times. Also they said the beach was 15 mins walk away. It is more than double that.
