Very nice guesthouse close to BTS station, have private rooms and can chat with international travellers in the ground floor . Wifi is good that even my room is in 3rd floor, i still can receive the signal. I like the roof too.The host is a very nice girl that provide me enough local information in transportation. I plan to stay there again.

WE LOVE U-BAAN!! Fantastic hostel, amazing location-quiet (for Bangkok!!), but only 5 mins walk to Skytrain! The owner really is as epic as everyone says-so helpful, funny and sweet! Took us out to eat, helped with travel plans, helped us love our time in Bangkok and make the most of what the city has to offer:) Thank you! Miss Kate and Miss Shaye :)

U- Ban was a brilliant place to stay in Bangkook. Joy, who runs the hostel, is extremely helpful with everything and anything you need help with in Thailand or moving on to other areas in south east Asia. There is a really nice atmosphere in the common room area which is also a good place to chat to other backpackers. The location for us was perfect, a 5 min walk to the BTS- easily the best way to travel around and cheap too! Much nicer area than Ko San Road to stay.thanks for a lovely stay!!

Like many people who look on Hostelworld for places to stay, I also do Couchsurfing. I think that this hostel is the closest I've ever come to a place that felt more like couchsurfing than a hostel. Joy would go out to dinner and do other excursions with her guests and seemed like much more of a host than a hostel owner. My stay here was a nice oasis from the rest of Bangkok.

Top hostel. Joy's great, and three people in a dorm is the ideal number. Even if you do get stuck in the room with an Indian who'll wake you up everyday at 6am with his weird respiratory habits and who never smiles.

This place is THE place to stay in Bangkok. Being right near the Skytrain, it's perfect for getting around but you are far away enough for it to not be too crazy. The distance REALLY doesn't matter, the skytrain is awesome! Like other people have said, Joy who runs it, is a JOY to be around. She's bubbly, gets everyone involved and organises social things for us all to do. Super friendly - the best place to meet new friends! Private room was gorgeous, air-con and super clean! STAY HERE!

You wanna stay in Bangkok ? STAY AT U-BAAN !!! Joy (hostel owner) is amazing. The hostel is nice, clean and close to the Skytrain which can take you to the most important parts of the city. All rooms have A/C, nice rooms and beds, Joy knows everything what you need to know about Bangkok and will try to make your days in Bangkok as awesome as possible! I can't say more it's just amazing cheap and great. Probably the best hostel which i saw in the last 9 months!

U-baan is great! We had stayed in Khao San previously and hated it, U-baan is a world away from the McDonalds/brits on tour feeling of Khao San (the main road at least) It's in a non-touristy neighbourhood with loads ofplaces to eat nearby - street food and little restaurants/cafes. 4 mins walk from the Skytrain station. Joy is amazing and so helpful with telling places to eat/go out etc. She's awesome!

We enjoyed staying at this place as it is away from the main Silom/Khao San area which would rob u of peaceful sleep, this place is jus 5 mins from the nearest BTS station. 7-eleven & street food is 1 min walk from the hostel so it isn't big problem for getting food 24 hours too Joy is a very welcoming host. She took care of our itinery and gave very useful tips of whereabouts in Bangkok. We were here during Songkran and she arranged tuk-tuk for us to go round the city to start rockin!

A fantastic and inexpensive hostel with one of the nicest owners. Joy speaks English, gives tips about where to go in Bangkok, takes everyone out to dinners, and let's you use her phone if you need to. A great hostel in all respects.

It's a bit off the beaten path but great if you're over the madness, overpricing and crowd of Koh San road. The owner, Joy, is just as her name suggests. She is about the loveliest person you will come across in your life. She will help you with getting anywhere in bangkok or the rest of Thailand, she will give you advice, she even organizes cheap group dinner outings for whoever wants to see some authentic Bangkok eating on any given night. I loved my stay there and have been back since.
