U Baan is a decent place to stay in Bangkok. It is fairly clean and the social atmosphere is good. The rooms are of average size but the beds are clean and comfortable and the rooms come with an attached bathroom. Joy, the owner is a friendly lady and will help you in planning out your day in Bangkok. The location isn't the best as it is quite far from the centre of the town, but the BTS is only a 2 mins walk away. Overall, I will recommend the place to fellow travellers.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at. A small, cosy hostel with some great guests. Joy is a great host and so friendly. She hangs out with guests and even organised large tuktuks to hire to help celebrate Songkran - one of the best days of my life riding around Bangkok spraying people with water! Hostel has very good WiFi and air conditioning, clean bathrooms and there is a large choice of cheap, good quality street food nearby. Will definitely return to this hostel. Thank you, Joy!

Joy is amazing! She is very friendly and gives a lot of information about local Thai places. Rooms are basic, clean and in good condition. Location is very lovely. It's not in the touristy part but in a local neighbourhood. Definitely stay here again!

Joy knows what you needs to know while you're in Thailand, and is a great host. Also, the location was perfect for us, in a non-tourist (non-tuktuk) area, where food is cheap and good and you get to see a more local side of Bangkok.

We had a fantastic stay at U-Baan guesthouse. Having stayed in a number of different locations and guesthouses/hostels in Bangkok this has been by far the best. Great value for money, spotlessly clean and near the sky train. Joy is also incredibly helpful (saved us a lot of time and money getting to Hua Hin). Not a party place but we were not looking for this! Would highly recommend.

Nice hostel. Joy is lovely, very very helpful. It's a very laid back hostel. Nice and small. The location isn't too central but it's only about a 20 minute ride into the centre of Bangkok on the Skytrain so not a massive issue.

Not a bad place to spend a few days. I would return!

One of the best thing here is the knowledgeable staff. If you have any question, Joel will have the answer. She will help you to find way to cut cost expenses. The location is located in residential area, which means price of food around here is little bit cheaper. It's not recommended to stay here, if in the night you want to go Khoa San area. Staying here, you'll have a great experience to meet and chat with other traveller.

I love this place very much. Close to the SkyTrain, close to local food markets and still quiet most of the time. Joy, the entertaining owner of U-Baan Guesthouse knows everything a tourist might ask. You plan to continue your trip to another place in Thailand? Just tell her and she will give you good advice on how and when to get there or what activities you might enjoy there.

If you're looking for somewhere away from lots of loud, drunk tourists this is the place. Close to local markets where there is lots of yummy, cheap food. Close to bts station so it's easy to travel everywhere in bkk. Clean, aircon!, and quiet at night. Joy is a wonderful host, super helpful and friendly!

Our host Joy was the most helpful, hilarious and happy host we have met so far on our travels. She can make an instant connection with you and is in fact more of a friend than a member of staff. Never felt the need to go for an awful night out in the expensive, Western quarter of town as there were always interesting people sitting round in the communal chilling area chatting, debating and story-telling long into the night. Lots of perfectly good and cheap street food within 30 seconds.

The owner - young lady - was the only Thai person I understood speaking English :) (In all the other cases they had such a strong Thai accent that it was really difficult to understand anything or did not speak English at all). Enthusiastic, helpfull person :) The place is 5 min walk to SkyTrain station.
