Hostel staff were lovely and very helpful but the room wasn't great - overrun with ants, very small and holes in the wall. Room was old but clean. Lots of shops/local Thai eateries around hostel.
Joy is lovely and helpful!! And I met nice people here! It is a good place to see the local life of normal people here and get a real taste of Thailand. The room is neat with a small bathroom. For me, that's enough. The location is a little bit out of the central area so it's quiet but it takes a while to go out and come back from outside.
A neat hostel in a more quiet area of Bangkok. Safe and located nearby the skytrain, so also easy to reach from the airport. Our room was affordable and good: clean, enough space, aircon. Best thing was the help and information which the owner, welcoming and helpful Joy, can provide you: transport, hotspots, etc.
U Baan Guesthouse is perfect for people who have never bin to Bangkok before. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there are enough people chiling at the lounge area or rooftop terrace to meet up with someone. The rooms are very pleasant, with a/c and hot water! Joy, the owner, is very kind and always prepared to help you finding your wayin this impressive city!!! Although it's not in the center of Bangkok, it's very easy to get to!!! I would recommend this place to everyone!!!!
U-Baan Guesthouse is not far away from the Sky-Train Station "Wongwian Yai" so you can get there very easy. The location is quite interesting, because it`s not Touri - crowded. There are two 7-11 stores right around the corner. The Guesthouse also have a terrace at the top of the building so you can enjoy some kind of "nice" view up there. Wifi is provided. The rooms are clean and good with air condition. The staff is very cool and speaks english. It`s also quite cheap.
Joy has to be probably the most down earth host I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. The hostel is comprised of a common area downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs, and believe me when I say this: you will spend most of your time downstairs. It's a nice place to get to know people and make new friends and Joy herself is always around to hang out with. Oh, and don't let her get you into Cookie Run. It will consume your life. There's a plenty of street vendors near by for food as well.
Good quiet location, only a few steps to BTS. The hostel was good, Joy (the owner) was great and make everything possible. No breakfast.
Super quick to get to the sky train, 2 stops to the 15 baht boat to go to any of the temples/kao san, joy's nice and can help with anything, and ya'll can meet peeps downstairs

A basic hostel with a basic common area that's good for meeting other people, the owner is nice too. Unbeatable for the price.
Really loved this hostel! The owner Joy is really kind and fun and full of great advice and fun conversation. Hostel has a nice chilled atmosphere, free lockers, sky train one block away, free wifi. Will definitely stay here again! :) thanks for a great time in Bangkok! :)
This Hostel is excellent value for money. Dorms sleeps max of 4/5 people, so they doesn't feel to cramped. Also all rooms have ensuite bathrooms, which is always better then a communal one. As everyone had say, Joy the owner is a great host and makes everyone feel welcome to the place. The atmosphere of the hostel is pretty sociable and homely. The neighborhood is definitely not a touristy place, that can be pretty cool or a bummer, that's for you to decide. Very close to the BTS though!
Great place to stay. Minutes from the metro. Joy was an excellent host and will be the reason to come back.
Joyce, the girl in charge was wonderfull. 5 min walk from the sky train, the hostel is in a lot more authentic area then Khao San Road, I liked it for that.
Joy was really kind and nice! The atmosphere was really good in this hostel.

Good hostel, excellent value for money and staff really helpful!!!
Joy, the owner is amazing. She is very friendly. It is a bit far and you have to take transport for sure if you do not wanna walk for an hour an a half to the centre.

The owner Joy is wonderful, so welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Hostel is very clean and nice, and secure. Not the best location for nightlife or seeing the attractions of the city, but it is close to the sky train so everything is easy to get to. Cab to Khoasan road only cost about 70 baht. Would stay again.
The girl who runs the hostel, Joy, was so nice to us our entire stay. She was helpful, personable, kind and had a fun sense of humor, and I would not only stay there again for its good value, but also to hang out with Joy again. Anytime we needed help she did her best to give us whatever we needed, and our conversations on life in Bangkok and the complex circumstances around the protests were very educational. Thanks for everything Joy! Hope to see you in Bangkok again soon!
We had such a great time at U-baan. It has a great atmosphere and Joy (the hostel owner) is the best!
