very nice hotel. We loved the Japanese style room. Nice big bathroom (unusual for Japan) and very good location. Can definitely recommend this place.

A nice, relaxing ryokan with an onsen bath in the basement. Lovely rooms. Tea and local sweets are provided each day. The staff are solicitous, although not all of them speak English. It is a short bus ride from the station and reasonably linked to the main sights. Wifi unfortunately only works in the lobby but thats common for hotels. I didn't eat there but the kaiseki food looked amazing and at Y5000 is cheaper than restaurants around town

A great location and a great staff who were extremely helpful and communicated well in spite of limited English. Loved the experience of the traditional Japanese room and beds.

I was very pleased for the price. You get a full japanese style room with futon which was very similar to traditional ryokans you would find in Hakone. Their futons were very comfy. The location is definitely good (close to the train station and to some big temples) but there are better places (near closer to Gion for example). I give a positive review for the great japanese experience at a very reasonnable price. In comparison, I stayed in a capsule hotel for about the same price...

The location was very convenient to us because we needed something very close to the Kyoto station; in general it is pretty outside the interesting areas. Room was big, nice and clean, warm and well equipped. Staff was extremely nice and shared bath was clean. A good modern ryokan if you want the experience but do not want to spend too much in a traditional one.
