Just stayed there for one night. Room was spacious but there were no lockers. Cleanliness was acceptable but the washing basin and taps in the toilets were not clean. Not many travellers hung around the common around. Those who did were busy with their laptops or smart phones. It wasn't the best place to meet other travellers.

Great stuff ! Walking distance from the hurt of Brussels down town. Good restaurants are located just around the corner. i would like to recommend Turkish restaurant '' Kasim'' Chee de Haecht 87 Haachtsestwg , Bruxelles 1030 Brussels. Excellent food and atmosphere ,reasonable prices. The hostel bar and lobby area are very comfortable and warm . The rooms are very basic but clean . Highly recommended for young people.

Good points: very clean, breakfast included, quite good position, staff helpful (they solved a problem with my key that wasn't working), possibility to keep the luggage in locker in a communal room (anyway some lockers should be fixed). Bad points: not enough toilets, internet a bit expensive, the position is quite good (a 20 minutes walk to the city centre), still in a quiet area, but near to an one that looks a bit unsafe. Anyway I would recommend it.

Only problem I see, they give you entry to the rooms at 2:00 pm and will require you to leave the hostel at 10:00 am. We were collecting the room and had only been five minutes of the hour and a reception guy would not let us finish packing, he began to take the sheets and stuff. We found a lack of education. Otherwise everything perfect.

CHAB is a good hostel the rooms are very good, new and clean. The breakfast is nice. The location is not the better, but not a big problem, you can go walking to the major points of Brussels Centre, but is not a small distance. The only things I do not like was the showers (I think it is common in Belgium, because the showers of my hostel in Brugges was not good too), the temperature in Brussels was +/- 2º C and the showers was very cold, and the room does not have lockers and WIFI

The absolute part of this hostel is the breakfast... there is everything you could want to eat and you will not leave hungry! The spread of the hostel amongst a few buildings was a little strange and annoying in the snow, but it wasn't the disaster people make you think. There was a bar and pool table and it was a good set up for meeting people, and there are plenty of them (this is a Big hostel).

A little far away from the central area of Brussels but not too bad. Cleanly and a nice lounge for wifi/pool. Overall, great bang for your buck

Stayed in a three-bed-room with which we were very happy. It was big, and it was nice to have our own front door into the courtyard. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, there weren`t a kettle, cups, bowls or any other useful dishes in the kitchen to prepare yourself a meal or at least a tea. There were no lockers in the room and our key card didn`t work. The bathrooms were in the basement (our room on the first floor, toilets on the ground floor) and there was no shower curtain in the showers, so all your stuff got wet. There was a nice garden and the staff was friendly and helpful.

This hostel has nothing better than others pros: the bar and the map they gave me. cons: everything smelling like sewer, cannot regulate water temperature on shower, smelly room (I think hostels smells like this because there is no ventilation and rooms are full of smelly socks, some rooms are in a different building without lockers, shower and toilets are in a different level than my room. expensive for the price obs: many kids (16 and 17 from belgium and germany)

The internet was intermitten and virtually useless. The fact that you check in at one building (where all the facilities are) and then go down the street to sleep is awful. Having to get dressed up into all the winter jackets, hats and gloves etc just to go and check email (if possible at all) or have breakfast was just not acceptable. Building was cold and there was a tour group of kids (school age) that were running up screaming all night. No lockers in the rooms - back at other building!
