1Stuck at the end of the plateau of Moytura in Ireland’s Co. Sligo, ‘Gyreum’ is a hugely spacious, hobbit-like building that has been dug into the hillside. The 100ft structure is aligned to the dawns and dusks of both the summer and winter solstices when beams of sunlight light up the central hall. Guests can stay in dorms circling the ‘round hall’ which is perfect for yoga and meditation.

Doorus House Hostel, Kinvara, Co. Galway

3_xdoorusThis historic building was built by the Count DeBasterot in 1866. In September 1897 WB Yeats, Lady Gregory and Edward Martyn met with the Count here to start the Irish National (Abbey) Theatre. The Count’s home became a youth hostel in 1961.

MacMurrough Farm Hostel, New Ross, Co Wexford

Foulksrath Castle, Jenkinstown, Kilkenny

7_xfoulksrathThanks to its location in a 16th century castle, Foulksrath Castle is one of the most spectacular hostels in Ireland. Located just 5km outside Kilkenny, it was built by the Purcell family. The dorms are located up a spiralling staircase and out the rooms’ windows are great views of the surrounding grounds. Guests who stay here can enjoy eating in the castle’s most ornate room, a magnificent dining room.

Hi, Looking for cheap accommodation maybe hostel for 4 nights for 1 person from 1st February and then each Saturday night therafter for 8 weeks. Thanks Grahame
