Horrible experience ! On the booking it says nothing about what time to arrive. But I got there at 12am and called multiple times and rang the door bell and nobody came out. As a solo female traveler do not book this place. Unless you are sure someone will be there to open the door.

Although the accommodation is inexpensive, the quality is very basic — the bed is just a thin mattress on wooden boards. The lodge is inside a house, making access confusing. The host was rude and used an unclear USD‑to‑colones conversion, and basic amenities like a microwave were only allowed after repeated requests. The only positives are the price and the location.

Great location for safety and airport transport. Didn’t realize it was in a gated community until I showed up. I (25, female) felt safe enough to go on a run alone around the neighborhood in the morning! And walk around at night. Directly across from a cute park as well. Lockers weren’t too large (I had a large 50L backpack) I don’t really speak Spanish but we were able to communicate well enough.
