If you want to surf near San Juan this is the best place. 1 minute walk to playa remanzo, with other great surf breaks nearby. Renting a scooter or bike is handy for groceries or surfing but shuttles and delivery options are available. Very kind helpful hosts, kitchen , clean space. Quiet, but San Juan is 15 minutes away.

I regret to say that my experience at Casa Maya was highly disappointing. While the staff was courteous, the quality did not match the exorbitant price. The bed felt like a slab of concrete, and the toilet was far from inviting. To add insult to injury, a power shortage left us in the dark, with the generator only powering a single building, leaving us questioning the value of our $65+ expenditure. Overall, Casa Maya left a lot to be desired, and I would caution anyone considering a stay there.

This experience was exactly what I payed for/expected. James and Faith were VERY accommodating to what I needed for my stay and as well as additional help with transportation information. They were both very friendly and gave us as much information as they could regarding our stay. The proximity to the beach made everything worth it, the bars and restaurants down there were AMAZING. I usually stay at Playa El Coco but I will definitely be coming back to playa Remanso.
