I’ve stayed at this hostel before and it was just as good then as it was now. The free breakfast is amazing and actually feels like a free meal. Little bit pricey for the weekend but still a very good experience.

    Fabulous

    17 May 2019
Location and staff were excellent. Rooms were adequate but stuffy even with windows open. The rooms were clean enough but under beds looked like hadn't been changed cleaned in a while and chewing gum stuck to beds. Why would people do that anywhere. Breakfast was included but stick to toast or cereal. Drink the coffee at your peril. Overall probably go back.

    Fabulous

I was in the 10 all female room ensuite. Pros: -The hostel's location. It is in the city center and everything is in walking distance. The tram is about a 5 minute walk and the train/ bus station is about a 10 minute walk. -Bathroom in the room. -Curtains cover the windows to block out the city lights Cons: -It was very hot in the room even with the windows open. -The pillow was pretty firm. -The room is also smaller than the other hostel I stayed at in Dublin.

    Very Good

The building is a bit grey and old. The rooms are clean and relatively spacious though. Breakfast was alright and staff was friendly. It just lacked that nice hostel atmosphere, but it was good to stay for one night.

Very dirty. The washrooms were disgusting. Needs some updating. Sheets weren’t clean when I got there and they said they’d bring them up to the room in 45 mins. Never happened. An older lady who didn’t speak English slept on the mattress and without any sheets, duvet cover or pillowcase despite me grabbing her a set from downstairs as well. The place is just dreary and uninviting. Wouldn’t come back. There are so many hostels in the area with comparable prices that are better.

Abigails Hostel says

I think we've got an unbeatable location in Temple Bar, overlooking the Liffey. This is a converted hotel, so families and older guests feel at home, too. Plus we've got a bright, open-plan communal area-great for socialising, web surfing, watching movies… For fun we have a free walking tour every morning and a pub crawl from the hostel every evening. We've got fresh fruit and eggs at breakfast, too. We're quite close to Trinity College and Dublin Castle, but my favourite place to recommend is the Guinness Brewery. Lynda, General Manager
