Hostelworld says

Ashfield House is in the very centre of Dublin, between Trinity College and O'Connell St. Our visitors have said this 'excellent location' makes the hostel a 'very handy little place to crash after a night in Temple Bar'. This 'perfect home away from home' has 'friendly and helpful' staff who 'go out of their way' to help, plus free luggage storage, a 'delicious and filling' breakfast and an ''eat me I'm free' cabinet' in the kitchen. We like their daily walking tours of Dublin.

Staff member on desk very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Very expensive but all hostels in Dublin are, Ashfield is slightly cheaper and a better option as they have over the beds own plug and light+cages under the bed for personal storage (you will need your own lock). Ensuite bathroom. Free wifi in bedroom also I could not fault the cleanliness. I would recommend+return. Next door there is a coffee shop/ food shop along with shampoos etc.Tram 5 mins away, bus stops outside the door.

Good location. Place had good security. We did get woken up by someone setting off the fire alarm which was annoying. The breakfast has nice a selection.

Thiscwas our second stay here. It was a good place to drop our bags, run around the town, and come back to lay our heads. Forgive me we didn't get his name, but the bald headed gentleman with the beard was very pleasant and helpful. My sister even accidentally left her shopping bag in the lobby and they kept it for her until our cousin could go back and pick it up.

Fire alarms went off at 3am on one night and 1am the other night. No reason as to why. Facilities were good- kitchen and breakfast included. Tea and coffee facilities available 24/7. Would recommend- excellent location, rooms were nice and good staff!

Staff were really nice and easy going. The bunks are old with no privacy, but we’re easy to get in and out of. Not clean. Old building. Fire alarm went off twice, but staff were very apologetic (and sincere) about it. I wouldn’t stay here again but i did appreciate the staff.

Best thing about this place is it’s location. The staff are helpful to the bare minimum, which isn’t saying that much. No activities and no real atmosphere. Lots of construction noises in the morning and thin walls hearing people walk and stomp the floors.Pricey place for what you get. Wouldn’t recommend it here for a solo traveler. Fend for yourself attitude here. Probably the tiniest shower I’ve ever showered in, in a hostel ever. Shower curtains had a funky smell. Would not recommend.

Dirty, bathroom was gross and disgusting. Shower drain clogged. Room was not shown as described. I stayed in a 6 person dorm that really only should have had 4 beds. Could barley pull out the under bed storage to store my luggage. Beds were not very safe, one of our beds did not have railing on one side and were so shaky they felt they could break at any moment. Door to room would not shut all the way so was not safe in keeping people out of our room.

Ashfield Hostel says

This place has the perfect combination of location and comfort, opposite Trinity College but in a quieter street. We cater to all ages - backpackers, school and university groups, families, couples, etc. We've got a free walking tour every morning, a pub crawl from the hostel every evening and free DVDs/games. The building has an elevator and our fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, good-looking staff are happy to help anyone who needs assistance. They also have tons of recommendations; personally, I usually tell guests they should visit the Book of Kells at Trinity College and Library. Lynda, General Manager
