Ashfield House is in the very centre of Dublin, between Trinity College and O'Connell St. Our visitors have said this 'excellent location' makes the hostel a 'very handy little place to crash after a night in Temple Bar'. This 'perfect home away from home' has 'friendly and helpful' staff who 'go out of their way' to help, plus free luggage storage, a 'delicious and filling' breakfast and an ''eat me I'm free' cabinet' in the kitchen. We like their daily walking tours of Dublin.

Property Description

Ashfield Hostel is Dublin's most centrally located hostel. We're just one minute's walk to Trinity College, Temple Bar and O'Connell Street as well as bus stops to the airport, ferry terminal, Guinness Storehouse and Heuston Station.

The hostel is very close to downtown with that said if you are a picky sleeper then is probably not the best. Noisy but fun and serves free breakfast 🎉 boiled eggs, toast, cereal, coffee, milk and juices. We booked a room of 6 beds and we were 5 so it was private. Clean restrooms.

First off, the staff are all excellent and the rooms/facilities are spotless. The location is absolutely perfect and you have easy access to everything Dublin has to offer. I was here when the covid nonsense kicked into high gear so there weren't many people around which was ashame. The only critique I have is that the common area is dated, plain and not overly comfortable. With that being said, this is a hostel and not a Hilton so it's still all good. I'd stay here again for sure! Thank you!

    Fabulous

Really enjoyed my stay. Hostel was very clean, and the breakfast was lovely. Stayed in a 4 bed dorm which was a really good size and the ensuite shower was brilliant. Cleaning staff were there daily. The guy that checked me in was young and super friendly, however the man that checked me out and that worked the last two days of my stay was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He made me feel uncomfortable and as if he wanted me to leave. Apart from him I would absolutely recommend the hostel.

Staff is excellent and extremely conversational and willing to help you out when needed. Area, specifically the stairs, is a bit rustic and could use a few upgrades, but overall, I enjoyed my stay. City Centre isn’t massive, so this hostel is located perfectly and within walking distance of everything.

Great for the price we paid and appreciated that the front desk worker gave us his insight to the city. The only thing is that our personal room door did not always lock which made us girls feel a little bit nervous. But other than that, great for cheap traveling!

    Fabulous

The hostel is located in the Temple bar district so the location is perfect. It’s a locked entry that you buzz to get into. We liked that. Kitchen was fine. There was a pizza type oven and regular over that either didn’t work or we just couldn’t use. Never figured out which. A Free breakfast was muffins, toast, cereal. Like every hostel everywhere. We got upgraded to twin private for a discount because our two roommates decided to take the bottom bunks.

I made reservations more than a month before I arrived. I paid the reservation fee. However, when I arrived at the hostel on my trip, the doors and windows were closed and locked and no one answered my calls. Closed. Did not get my $ back and had to scramble to book new accommodations last minute.

Ashfield Hostel says

This place has the perfect combination of location and comfort, opposite Trinity College but in a quieter street. We cater to all ages - backpackers, school and university groups, families, couples, etc. We've got a free walking tour every morning, a pub crawl from the hostel every evening and free DVDs/games. The building has an elevator and our fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, good-looking staff are happy to help anyone who needs assistance. They also have tons of recommendations; personally, I usually tell guests they should visit the Book of Kells at Trinity College and Library. Lynda, General Manager
