Love this hostel! It's the perfect place to chill and cool off before going to the lost city or before you travel onwards to your next destination.

Only spent the one night as a transition point between Santa Marta and Medellin but it was a very good hostel. Clean, sociable and with excellent facilities. The staff on the front desk were also very friendly and helpful.

Nice relaxed hostel with a good atmosphere. Good breakfast and all the staff were amazing, particularly the receptionist Mari who was absolutely lovely and always really helpful. I personally think she should win employee of the month again. If only I hadn’t overcooked the pasta duck. 1001

The beds are super comfortable & the kitchen is well stocked to make your own meals but bring your own spices and oil (unless it’s on the free shelf). The pool was super clean and the staff was so helpful for check in and helping us find things within Santa Marta and to get to Minca! I really enjoyed my stay here at Cacao - would recommend as a good place to hang out at night after day trips. Nice and quiet but also social enough to chat with others. Thanks Cacao!

Very nice staff and a nice breakfast. It's not in the center so you have to walk a bit, but it's not so noisy which is nice

I’d highly recommend this hostel! The staff are really friendly and would go out their way to help you. The hostel itself sells/books excursions for a good price including the lost city trek which is a must do. The general ambience and atmosphere is great, it was a very social hostel to be at as the bar is open late and there is a great social space

Overall, really great place to crash. The patio is gorgeous and they have a really kind staff. It’s definitely secure and the AC is nice. The pool was for sure in need of a serious drain and clean as it was looking ore like a lake than a pool, but we did see someone pour chlorine into it. The rooms were nice and had everything we needed. The only downside was that it was a bit of a walk from the center and was unsafe past 8pm to walk through the neighborhood, meaning we had to get a 6,000 taxi

The dorms are real ovens during the day and AC doesn't catch up at night. Only 1 shower shared for like a dozen people. Breakfast is tiny but tasty. Don't go to the courtyard if you're not a smoker. The staff is the #1 reason I enjoyed my stay there. Super helpful and went out of her way to help me figure out an issue with my Ciudad Perdida trek that I had registered elsewhere. Thank you!

The location is a little far from the center but a nice and clean place. Mari at reception is the best! She is super nice and very helpful. I got the tour for Minca and it was not worth the money DO NOT BUY TOUR FOR MINCA very overpriced and not worth it.

Pool very dirty, booked wanting to swim but didn't swim in it for this reason. Restaurant expensive for quality and size of food. Short walking distance to bus station for minca and palomino but 15 minute walk to town (?safe at night) or get taxi also require taxi to bus station for longer transits. Wouldn't stay here again. Stayed either side of lost city trek and felt the vibe there was strange - obviously depends on the travellers staying there each time.
