Welcome to Mr Baboon Hostel, a laid-back, social home for travelers who come to Santa Marta to explore, trek and enjoy life at an easy pace.

Our location is hard to beat. We’re right in the middle of the action: steps away from great restaurants and nightlife, just two blocks from the beach, where you’ll witness one of the most photogenic sunsets you’ll ever see — the sun literally melts into the sea 🌅. We’re also 10 minutes walking from the buses to Minca, Palomino, Tayrona and other must-see spots, and right next door to a tour office offering the famous Lost City Trek, one of Colombia’s most iconic adventures.

Mr Baboon is the kind of place where days start early for adventures and nights end with good conversations. Most of our guests come for trekking, tours and nature, and love coming back to a hostel that feels relaxed, social and easygoing.

Our dorm beds are ridiculously big — solo travelers often say it’s the most space they’ve ever had while sharing a dorm. Stretching out is not only possible, it’s encouraged. You’ll finally know what it feels like to sleep without elbows hitting walls. Beds with two pillows and real walk-up stairs instead of ladders. Whether you’re on the top or bottom bunk, you’ll sleep well. Add to that air conditioning running 21 hours a day, and you’ll understand why guests rave about our beds.

The hostel is designed to naturally bring people together. Our spacious communal kitchen has one big shared table, where travelers cook, swap ingredients, stories and plans without forcing anything. It’s social, simple and very Mr Baboon.

The pool and rooftop terrace are where everything flows. Chill during the day, cool off after the heat, and gather in the evening to decide where the night will take you — especially if you don’t have to wake up early for a tour the next morning.

- Payment upon arrival by cash only.
- Check in from 15:00
- Check out before 12:00.
- Cancellation policy: 72 h before arrival.
- The maximum period of stay is 15 days.
