Property Description

'Garden Lane Backpackers' is a brand new, stylish and contemporary hostel in a convenient city centre location, the Dublin Liberties area, neighbour of Christ church area. Our aim at Garden Lane is to make your stay in Dublin as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, making you feel right at home, while providing a high quality service at a budget price.

We're tucked away in a side street just off of Francis Street. It’s a great location for visiting the Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery, Christchurch Cathedral, Saint Patrick Cathedral, Dublin Castle and the Brazen Head - Ireland's oldest pub! And we're only a ten-minute walk from popular hot spots like Grafton Street, Temple Bar, Camden area and Trinity College. There are many restaurants, shops, bars, pubs and supermarkets just around the corner. You'll never be short of things to do here!

We offer comfortable accommodation in 4, 6 and 8 bed dorms (including female only dorms) each room with its own wi-fi router. Linen is free (yes, we'll make your bed for you) and we provide high quality mattresses and individual reading lights to ensure a high level of comfort. Each bed also comes with its own power socket, and an under-bed locker to secure your luggage. All the dorms are cleaned daily and the beds are always made with fresh linen. Each floor has multiple bathrooms that are cleaned three times every day (7am – 11 am – 7pm) to ensure a high quality standard of cleanness.

On the top floor we have a spacious kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals, including plenty of fridge space and tea/coffee/hot chocolate at any time. From 7:30 to 10 in the morning we provide a free breakfast with 2 types of bread, 4 types of Jam, 2 types of peanut butter, 3 types of cereals and yes … the real brand NUTELLA! On top of this, we keep all of this (except for the milk) available throughout the rest of the day and night. The kitchen has an outside terrace with a great surrounding view of Dublin and the hills around it.
Opposite the kitchen is the living room where you are always welcome to hang out and watch a movie, have a drink, stare at your smartphone or play a game with our staff members and guests. We have two PC’s here that are free to use for any purpose. A hairdryer or iron + board are available to all our guests free of charge.

Our international staff is very knowledgeable about things to do and see in- and outside of Dublin, and we are always happy to offer you (practical) advice or to draw on our own experiences. As we are affiliated with several tour companies, we can offer you some great free or budget options to explore the city and the rest of Ireland. The taxi company we partner with offers a very competitive price for getting around the city or to the airport. Carkpark available for €10 a day (ask front desk for more information).

Feel free to contact us for further questions.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Garden Lane family!

Very clean. Super friendly staff that really goes above and beyond. Nice that it was a little off the main street. It made it nice and quiet. But it was still close to everything.

Amazing place!!! A little off the main busy area but this means less noise at night! One of the cleanest hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Staff went above and beyond (thank you: clarisse the cleaner, corrado, the french reception girl and the reception guy with black hair and beard - sorry I didn’t catch everbody’s name). Would 100% recommend and stay here again!!

It was great, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Good place to rest after a long day. Kitchen and common areas were great. Our room was good and clean, fresh sheets and free towels lots of space. The wall and bed frame had snot on it though... Very difficult to ignore. Aside from that the facilities were all clean. Good stay.

The hostel was overall nice: room was spacious; beds were nice; breakfast was better than I had hoped for; toilets/showers were clean. One minor problem was the small number of showers/toilets by each floor. It wasn't a big deal for me, but I saw other quests wondering between floors if there was empty shower somewhere. The location is indeed a bit far from center, but I didn't mind 15 min walk as the street the hostel was on was quiet and I got a good night sleep.

    Fabulous

The hostel offers an inexpensive and convenient accommodation option in Dublin. It is located in a secluded part of the city center. One of the downside is that the bunk beds were not very sturdy. Being in the lower bunk, I felt all the movements of the person above me during the night. The mattress was also not very comfortable. The breakfast is an average hostel breakfast (cereals and bread with toppings). I believe there were enough showers and toilets around.

Good stay. Only issue was the noise as the rooms/windows dont appear soundproof. For example we could hear the doorbell going off in the room. Other than that, no issues
