The staff was so sweet and kind. I got sick at one point while I was there, and they were super nice about it. It’s really close to a subway station and some bus stops, which is nice too.

Highly recommended! The staff were so friendly, chatty and helpful and the guesthouse itself has a lot of character. Stay here if you want to experience a traditional style futon and guesthouse. Great location for visiting the main spots in Kyoto and good public transport links. Lovely cafe downstairs - very chilled atmosphere and nice to come back to after a hard day of touristing.

It was so unique, super friendly staff, good location to a lot of temples and bus stations, great breakfast and coffee, cozy common area, and good showers. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would come back again when I come back to Kyoto.

This was a fantastic experience that made my trip to Kyoto feel very special . Staying in a traditional inn was a brilliant way to get into the Kyoto vibe. The open dorms allows socialising easier then expected as a solo traveller, along with the great common area and bar . Really appreciated the small touches of a localised map of coffee spots and restaurants to help support the local area . And great location! Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Kyoto!

We loved the look and atmosphere. It was a super cute and traditional Japanese home turned into a hostel. The staff was the friendliest we experienced in our whole 2 week stay at 5 different hostels across the country. The showers were ok— the floor was always wet which made it hard to change— but it wasn’t a huge issue. The laundry machine and dryer were great, as was the shoe dryer :) would absolutely come again thanks for a great time!

Lovely staff, super friendly. I didn't think I'd sleep too well on the futon and with the passing traffic but with some ear-plugs and re-adjustment of the futon (extra layer added) I slept really well. The food is also excellent, definitely worth a shot if you're hungry! They also gave great recommendations for local food options, including an amazing bakery, and when you've come back from a hard day 'templing', they always ask how your day was, what did you do and see - it's like coming home!

A really great and cute guesthouse! It felt very authentic and they said the building is 100 years old! The staff is really nice and accommodating, it’s near a subway station, a 7-11, etc so it’s very easy to get around! I even rented a bike from them which I thought would save me money on transportation but I wasn’t able to clearly understand where I was and wasn’t allowed to park haha. I stayed here three nights and had a nice visit. Great value, I would even stay here again.
