Simply the best hostel experience I've ever had! Booked for 3 nights and stayed for nearly 2 weeks. Location is easy to get to, and has great access to many of the amazing sites of the Nagano area, yet it feels slightly and refreshingly off the beaten track. Joyman san, Yuuri san, and the wonder woman Marina san are a delight to get to know and will be more than happy to help you organise your adventures. Hostel has everything you need and is perfect for meeting travellers and locals. Go there!

Guest House KURA is simply amazing, one of my favourite Hostels/Guest Houses in the world. Marina, Yuuri and Taki are SO much fun, they go out of their way to make you feel at home, have fun and to help share Japan's beautiful culture as well as show you around the beautiful Nagano. I can't recommend this hostel enough.

Kura is such a great place. The hosts are so friendly, they even make cake and brought pizza the nights I was there. It really felt like a home there, definitely recommended if you’re in Suzaka.

I loved my stay here. The staff was so kind and friendly. The owner cooked us a delicious meal and we spent the rest of the night playing games with the other travelers. The hostel is so beautiful and unique. After spending a lot of time in Japan's major cities it was great to relax in the mountain regions of the country. The views were beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend KURA!

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a guesthouse or hostel anywhere in the world! The guesthouse itself is lovely and there are plenty of events going on where you will get the chance to make friends with local people. Marina, who runs the house, really does make you feel at home - can't thank her enough for making our stay so comfortable! If you are in Nagano / Suzaka, you HAVE to stay at Kura!

We loved staying with the wonderful Marina and team at Guesthouse Kura. Beyond providing all the necessities, they are warm and welcoming, and make a smashing breakfast. The little town of Suzaka is a great base for checking out Nagano or heading up to the snow monkey park. Out of all the places we have stayed in Japan, this has been our favourite, we highly recommend Guesthouse Kura.

I had KURA Guesthouse recommended from another backpacker, and just as she said, KURA Guesthouse was so nice! The host (think her name was Yuri) was so nice to drive to a local Onsen, when we arrived to late to go see the snow monkeys right away. The atmosphere was nice and chill, and it’s located not to far from the station so you’ll be able to walk there on foot. Would definitely stay here again!
