To get the most out of bustling Faro and the surrounding Algarve countryside, plan a stay at Hostellicious. As a new addition to Faro's hostel scene, we're a modern and comfy option (that's also kind on your travelling budget). Sit back and relax in our communal lounge area or meet a few of the other guests while you're making a steaming pot of caldo verde (Portuguese soup) in our spacious kitchen. When the sun shines – which happens a lot in the Algarve – top up your tan on our outdoor terraces. The area around Faro is a playground for adventurers: we can book your place on local trips ranging from horse-riding to canoeing.

We're a 2-minute walk from Carmo Church – its Bone Chapel is one of the city's top sights – and a couple of minutes on foot from bustling bars and restaurants. You can hire bikes from us and cycle past the wetlands on the 6km ride to Praia de Faro, the local beach. The main bus station, Terminal Rodoviário de Faro, is less than a 5-minute walk away. If you're flying into Faro Airport, catch bus 14 from outside the terminal to get to the bus station in half an hour.

Rooms and Dorms

Bunks have built-in storage for your backpack and personal plugs so you can charge up your camera overnight. We also have private rooms if you'd like a little privacy. Just like with the dorms, bathrooms are communal and linen's included (so you can skip squeezing the sleeping bag into your carry-on). You'll have a locker for your belongings, too.

Extras and activities

Love riding the ocean waves? Conveniently, we partner with a local surf school. When you're back at the hostel, upload those shots of you nailing it (or gracefully wiping out) on Instagram using our free Wi-Fi – you can get the password from staff at the 24-hour reception. There's a designated smoking area on site, keeping the rest of the hostel feeling fresh.

Nice hostel with very nice staff. The location is close to a lot of interesting places in Faro and there are cheap supermarkets and cafés in the area. There's a nice dining area and the kitchen is spacious for preaparing food, with big fridge.

The place is just amazing, they had parking spot in front of the entrance available which we use. The location is amazing, close to everything, Kitchen could be more organized and clean but still was good enough. The mixed bathroom is a great idea, open minded. Rooms are nice and big. Homemade beer from the hostel is great!! Recommendation, dont take the bar hopping with the old guy, its expensive plus really bad places, just walk around the hostel area to find nice bars with young people.

Lovely hostel. Reasonably central, so easy to get to and from. The beds were good, and the showers and bathrooms were all clean.

The hostel itself was great, however it seems to be a “party” hostel. As the room was right by the stairs and the common area, there was partying and singing going on till late. The AC didn’t keep the room cool (later found out that you can request at reception to change the temperature) so having the window open wasthe only way to cool it down, but was very noisy. Also, the bathrooms weren’t very clean. Overall I would recommend staying here

I only stayed here for one night - this hostel looks quite nice from afar but on closer inspection it could do with a touch up. The communal bathrooms were huge but really not that clean, they felt more like campsite bathrooms (lots of flies in the showers). Also, you are not assigned a bed so can cause confusion if you haven't made it obvious you are staying in that specific bed. The room I stayed in had unfinished walls etc. Would still recommend, but can't say its the best place I've stayed.

all right for 2-3 nights. Beds are comfortable and allow privacy. Bathrooms were often clean, sometimes not. At nights there’s a lot of party in front of the hostel; with drunken people shouting and singing. Atmosphere in other hostels was nicer with shared breakfast / dinner; here‘s more into drinking at night. Staff was friendly and polite. Location is central to Faro, but Faro in itself was boring. I liked other places on the Algarve more.

Friendly staff, good central location. There were signs in the toilets saying not to put toilet paper down the toilet as it gets flushed out to sea? Not sure why toilet water is getting flushed out to sea untreated in one of the most popular beach areas in Europe?!? This meant there were stinky bins full of dirty toilet paper in the bathroom. The bathrooms weren’t very clean either. The rooms were very hot, opening the windows let air in but also all the noise from drunk people on the streets.
