Hostelworld says

Oasis Backpackers Hostel Granada is a very social hostel located on a pedestrian street at the base of the Albayzín, near the Gran Vía and the Moroccan market at Calle de la Alcaicería, making it easy to exploring all of Granada on foot. It's little wonder this hostel was ranked among the top 10 small hostels worldwide at the 2010 Hoscars! We like their relaxing patio with a BBQ and the views from the rooftop terrace.

Property Description

Oasis Backpackers is designed for the modern day global traveller who not only wants good tips and refuge from the vigour of the road but who also want to have fun and high pressured showers - someone just like you!

You will find us amidst the ancient cobblestone corridors and candle-lit teashops of Granada's enchanting Arabic quarter, the Albaicon. During the day, the Albaicin is full of life, with Moroccan markets, street musicians, and sunny plazas. When the sun sets it becomes the centre of Granada's nightlife bursting with bars, cafes and clubs.

Our location can't be beat - we're only minutes from the Alhambra, the Moorish Palace and other great sights. Our travel and information desk can help you to explore and unlock the secrets of Granada. We know all the best tips, whether you're catching a bus to the birthplace of Federico Garcia Lorca, heading up to the Sacromonte for a night of flamenco, taking day-trips to the lake or the Sierra Nevadas, going skiing or trying to get into the Alhambra on a busy day.

We also keep you connected with free and fast internet, Wi-Fi and phone cards.

When the museums close and the sun sets, unwind with us on our Tapas Tour, enjoy our cheap gourmet dinners, win free beer by entering our pub quiz, grill some meat'n'veg on our Argentinean BBQ, get sauced at our weekly backpackers party or...just take our elevator up and down all night.

We have breakfast, never-ending hot high-pressure showers, comfy beds, clean dorms, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and DVDs, a fully-equipped kitchen, Spanish lessons, roof-top terrace, open-air lounge, laundry service (we even fold your clothes) and a cocktail bar where you can trade stories over a mojito and some tunes.

Oasis Hostel booking conditions:
We have a cancellation policy of 24 hours prior to arrival day in the hostel. View House Rules

See the sights and socialise at Oasis Backpackers Hostel Granada. Just step outside and you’ll find Moroccan markets, street musicians and cool bars. Want to explore more? Take our art tour or come with us for a waterfall hike. Get to know the lingo with our Spanish lessons, then join us in the bar to practise your 'hola' over a cocktail. At the end of the day, gather some new friends on the rooftop terrace to grill a feast on our Argentinian barbecue.

From our location at the base of the Albaicín, you can get to know Granada on foot. See the city from above at the iconic Alhambra, just a 15-minute walk away. Walk the historic streets to the Cathedral of Granada, a 5-minute stroll from us. Then, head into Albaicín (18 minutes' walk) for flamenco by night. To reach us, take the Aero-Grana bus from the airport to Gran Vía de Colón, Catedral, and you can be with us in 48 minutes. From the train station, we’re 15 minutes away – jump on the number 4 bus to Sagrado Corazón.

Rooms and Dorms

All our mixed and female-only dorms have high-pressured showers, so you can cool off after a day in the Granada heat. A cleaning service makes sure they stay fresh from check in until check out. Plus, we have an elevator, so you won’t break a sweat carrying your backpack. Just remember to bring a padlock for your luggage locker.

Extras and activities

Seen the sights? Hop on our free Wi-Fi to share your photos – or stream some music while you get ready for drinks in the bar. There are free phonecards for calling home too. Once you've updated your followers, join other travellers in the open-air lounge, and sip a beer as the sun goes down. Cook up breakfast or make a jamón ibérico ham-and-cheese sandwich in our kitchen, or join us for a tapas tour before we start our pub quiz.

Amazing hostel, one of the best I’ve stayed in Europe! The staff were all amazing, friendly, and very helpful. Ani, Tnug, Fabienne, Greta and Juliana were some of the staff that helped me during my stay. Very close to all the main attractions, lots of good and cheap food nearby and the roof top lounge had a great view and sunsets were amazing up there. Would definitely stay again!

Really fantastic hostel. Awesome roof top terrace and great staff. Trung is the man of the town with all the best recommendations for beer and tapas and Juliana (or Hooliana?) was also lovely. Highly recommend

I just stayed one night in Oasis Granada, lived the location especially since it's right in the centre, but in a quiet area a little bit up the hill. Special thank you to Julianne from Brazil, she was superfriendly at arrival, it was her first day at reception and she did a really good job. I accidentally booked for the wrong night, but we were lucky and it was possible to change the date of the stay. Cosy place in general, seemed a bit quiet, but that is probably because it was off season.

A great hostel to stay at if you want to be right in the centre of Granada! Just wished the common spaces had been more comfortable and easier to hang out in since it was a bit cold for the roof. The staff, on the other hand, is so helpful, fun and knowledgeable, especially Trung and Juliana.

The hostel is in a fantastic location at Albaicin, you’ll be able to walk to all the attractions. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I stayed at the upstairs girls dorm where water pressure was non-existent but besides that, a good place to rest after a long day. Best part of my stay was going on Michael’s tours. Did the caves + street art walking tour as well as the waterfall hike to Sierra Nevada. Michael is very friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend any of his tours!

close to everything in granada but i passed an alley with animal poop smell to get to the hostel. the facilities were quite old. the bar of the upper bunker bed is right in the middle so it was awkward to climb on. there was no small shelf to put personal stuff by the bed and there was a considerable gap between the bed and the wall (tried, cannot move the beds) so my stuff kept falling into that gap. 6 lockers in a six-bed room but half of the lockers couldn't be closed. no sound isolation.

Disappointment. They seemed to be understaffed, front desk was also bartender. Didn't do much to create a social atmosphere.Only hostel I've been to that didn't have a free walking tour. They said they would have something arranged to celebrate NYE but all they had was an over priced dinner that locked anyone not participating out of the kitchen from 5-11pm. Noisy because of building shape. Location was perfect so if you're not looking for the social side of hostel life it would be fine.

Oasis Backpackers Hostel Granada says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is that we offer our guests a good variety of activities to do during their stay, such as walking tours in the mornings and evenings, a 'street art and caves tour' that gets you to some of the best unknown spots in Granada, our nice tapas tour and a nature tour to Los Cahorros natural park. All of these are free, of course.
If you just want to enjoy life at the hostel, you can chill out at the patio, enjoying cheap drinks from the bar, sunbathe in the rooftop terrace, or take an 'Arabic calligraphy workshop' on site. Also, most nights we offer dinner (Paella, BBQ, or just something exotic our chef comes up with) for as little as 4â'¬.
Our staff is a great mix of characters, always happy to help, and the good vibe is one of our strong suits (maybe the price on the drinks helps with that!).
The hostel is ideally suited for everyone who wants to have some fun while getting a good look of what Granada is, and not only what you get in the guide books. While the main age group is between 20s and 30s, we welcome everyone who wants to enjoy our place; we don\'t mind the age or the number. Of course, we are wheelchair-friendly, as we are friendly in every other sense!
