Overview

At Old Quarter View Hanoi Hostel, we don't just offer a free welcome drink on your first night – we've got free beer at our happy hour every evening! Join us in our on-site bar to meet an adventurous group of new friends. You can order a Vietnamese feast to share in our restaurant, or grab a few drinks and have a hot tub (yep that's right!) party. To make your budget stretch further, we'll give you free breakfast every morning, plus free bedding and towels. Did we mention Wi-Fi is free too?

Location

From Nội Bài Airport, hop on the bus to the 81 Trần Nhật Duật stop (it takes 45 minutes), then make the 6-minute walk to us from there – or just book our private car pick-up instead. Once you arrive, you'll see that we're in the heart of Hanoi Old Town. Step out of the front door to explore the colourful lanes and markets, and lunch like a local on bún chả, a dish of grilled pork belly and noodles that's sold on most street corners.

Rooms and Dorms

If socialising is your number one priority, book a bunk in one of our cosy female-only dorms or larger mixed dorms, where you'll meet our constantly changing gang of global travellers. All rooms have air con and en-suite bathrooms equipped with hairdryers. There are spacious lockers under the beds, plus individual reading lights for late-night reads that won't disturb your new crew.

Extras and activities

If you've had a big night, catch up with a power nap in the lounge – the air con keeps it cool all day long, and the hammocks and bean bags are seriously comfy! Or if you want as many cultural experiences as possible while you're here, head to our travel desk to book tours and get local advice from our friendly team. Once you're organised, pick up a free map, stop by the on-site ATM and you'll be good to go.

Absolutely great hostel to stay in if you are coming to Hanoi! Facilities are clean, and the staff are super helpful for any questions you may have about the city. It also had one of the largest spaces I've seen at a hostel for all your bags to be locked up in the room. If you are coming before check-in or going to Halong Bay for a night or 2, they were also super accomodating to keep out bags. Location is also right around beer street, so really good location :)

The beds are incredibly comfy and the showers are hot. The location is right in the middle of the old quarter and that’s ideal for exploring Hanoi. Tracey and the rest of the staff are absolutely lovely. Great value and the free breakfast was soooo delicious.

Didn’t feel very welcome here. I know the corona virus is going on but still other places in the city were welcoming. The staff treated me like they either didn’t care or really didn’t want me there. The rooms are really crammed and bathroom floor always soaking wet. My adaptor blew up in the reception while charging and they tried to blame me in 3 different ways. Tours and buses are expensive, f.ex. They charge 50%more for airport transfer than everyone else.
