Property Description

Ahoy mateys!!

The humble pirate inn is a unique alternative hostel in Faro, right in the heart of Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region. This lovely home-away-from-home is located in an authentic portuguese family townhouse smack-bang in the center of Faro - only minutes away from everything the city has to offer and a bike ride away from the sandy beach and the adorable Flamingos.

Our little house is located at Rua Aboim Ascencao 47, just a stone throw away from Faros famous Carmo Church and its Bone Chapel, and around 10 minutes by foot from the train station, bus station and marina. Our central location means that you’re also only steps away from local bars, restaurants, cafes, markets and other facilities - So, you’ll never be bored, hungry or lost…

This independent hostel is the brainchild of a portuguese seasoned traveller who puts the needs of his backpacking guests first, and during his years of travelling found that the best hostels are often the smallest. This cosy Portuguese house is a 16 guest special with 2 dorms, 2 privates, a home-style kitchen, comfy handmade common areas, tv room and sunny backyard. It’s a real home-away-from-home for the laidback weary backpacker and lover of the humble chillout. Now while certainly it isn’t the hilton, it’s guaranteed you’ll be treated with kindness, you’ll leave with new friends and maybe even a ever-burning desire to keep coming back.

Our friendly and scruffy-looking crew will do everything within their reach to provide you a clean and cozy stay and aim at giving you the best advice about Faro and its surroundings.

Come for a visit if your tired of big sterile company owned hostels, and help us help you fall in love with Faro! x

Pirate bay Backpackers is definately one of the best hostels I have stayed in... Ever. Not only is the location great to see the beautiful city of faro, it is also a great location for access to faro to the beautiful islands of algarve. I have never been in a situation where I have stayed in a hostels 3 times during my whole 5 week travel in Portugal. Safety, cleanliness and the atmosphere of the hostel made it feel like home. The highlight is the owner who is now a good friend. Much lov

My time in Faro was taking to another level staying here. The Pirates Backpackers is so welcoming, unique, relaxed and truly feels like a home away from home. It has all the comforts that a backpacker looks for, is in the perfect location to explore all that Faro has to offer and is met with the most knowledgeable, kind and attentive host Nuno. You will be sure to hangout with like minded travelers here, enjoy peace in the amazing sunlit courtyard and have that yearning to never want to leave!

I've been hostel-ing for over a decade and this is up there with my absolute favourite place to stay. I could forget real-life existed in this little oasis! It's definitely not a party hostel (not my vibe) but a great place to meet like-minded travellers and chill out. Everything was clean, comfy, relaxing, with a great terrace to enjoy a beer and shoot the breeze. If I was ever back in Portugal I would make the trip to Faro just to stay again - can't recommend enough!

This is easily one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! The location is great, staff are amazing and the overall vibe is wicked. Nuno is a great host who was so helpful and had great advice for things to do in the area, plus he's also great to grab a beer with. I can't recommend this hostel enough and hope to visit again!

Beautiful hostel, especially the outdoor area! Clean and big kitchen (but the fridge doesn’t work because the door doesn’t close properly - please fix it). Room is big and the bed very comfortable! There is no lock on the door to the room only to the main entrance. The staff is nice and the girl told me about the best beaches. Bathroom is clean. What I loved the most was the free stuff to borrow (the sun umbrella saved my life haha). Location is okay.
