The staff at Rednest were so helpful and engaging, even getting me to a new room when there was a problem with my door. There was a big kitchen, free dinner, cheap breakfast and good vibes. Saw people cleaning every morning so felt confident that it was clean. Did a walking tour with Greg which was fun and a great way to meet people. Would come back!

Great location, but wish i stayed at the sister hostel purple nest. red nest's atmosphere was dead- maybe just because it was during off season, idk. went on the pub crawl and that was awesome, but all the people we met were from purple nest or other hostels, not red nest, so maybe it was just unlucky or something but definitely think atmosphere is cooler at purple nest. there was a common area upstairs but every time i went up there no one was really there. 4 min walk to purple tho

Amazing place, loved the lockers, the decorations, and the overall atmosphere of the hostel. The staff was so welcoming and always willing to help, as well. I would not recommend showering there though if you can help it, as the shower drain is in the middle of the bathroom and it's difficult to avoid getting your other belongings wet in the process. Great views and location, though!

    Very Good

    12 May 2019
I was in a mixed dorm for the first night which was really uncomfortable as I was the only female and everyone else was much older than me and didn’t speak English. The showers were cold and wifi wasn’t great. But then I moved into a 8 bed mixed dorm with a private en-suite which was great! Everyone in this dorm was amazing and we are still friends today. It was nice to have our own bathroom and the showers were hot in this one. Staff were lovely but it seemed unorganised eg. forgetting dinner

Staff was really friendly and they have 24hr staff at door who check that people who come in are guests. Locked bag storage and overall the place seemed secure. We stayed on the 4th floor and it smelled pretty gross like sewage. There was an airfreshener in our room in an attempt to mask the smell that did an ok job but it was pretty wicked when you left your room. Bathrooms were okay but several of the men's toilets and showers didn't have locks. Very short push button showers with varying temp

I was threatened by the bar manager. He was drunk, was picking on a young boy and making highly unprofessional comments. As an onlooker I felt compelled to stand up for this boy, the bar manager accused me of being stoned, threatened to “beat me up” and kicked me out of the hostel as a result. This was around midnight, i had to grab my bags and run out of the hostel fearing for my safety. I would like to know what disciplinary actions have been taken?
