    Fabulous

Stayed here for four nights. Really great location! Very close to Kiyomizudera. Also many bus stops around too. About a 10m walk to Kamogawa and a Lawson 100. ~25m walk from Gion Shijo. I had a bottom bunk bed. It was nice cause I could store my luggage underneath. For the price, the comfort of the bed is okay. Showers were decent. Friendly staff.

Bustling bedroom and miss the coffee or tea available that other hostels usually have in common use

Reasonable price for the facilities offered. Kitchen was not very furnished and only had one stovetop burner so not great during busy cooking hours. Not really any interaction between guesthouse because of awkward social space. Staff was friendly and spoke good enough English for our needs. Overall pretty good experience for the price but nothing more than you pay for

    Fabulous

Everything was wonderful except that the room got really stuffy and smelly at night. The ventilation could be improved. The lockers are also very tiny so you end up keeping a lot in your bunk which isn’t secure and is hard to pack without being noisy in the sleeping area. The staff are wonderful though and facilities are clean.

The staff is super nice and helpfull, the beds are not the most comfortable but pretty ok. The only problem is that the rooms have a weird smell. Apart from that everything is ok, I enjoyed my stay.

A very big hostel mostly used by people to stay for a night only, so there's no real atmosphere or anything going on. The WiFi was really bad. It is cheap but the facilities are decent. Close to the gion quarter. Honestly is just a place to sleep and that's it.

    Very Good

the upper bunk had a curtain at the end but were open to the top with a meter of space left to the ceiling where the room light was placed, so no dark sleep for the upper bunks, very hard beds, no atmosphere or hostel vibe, the common area in the downstairs cafe wasn't comfy or inviting for people to stay

Overall an alright place to stay. Not a ton of atmosphere but more than I've seen at other hostels in Japan. The wifi is not very good, it cuts out a bunch but not really a big deal if you have a sim card. They have lockers for personal items. The bathrooms on each floor smell but the showers were clean. Beds are clean. Not a bad place to stay for the price.

    Good

Top bunks have no top, so if anyone turns their bunk light on the entire room gets lit up. The blanket I was given looked disgusting and the beds are pretty thin. The dorm always smelled horrible. There's a shelf right above your pillow, I bumped my head every morning. Like most dirt cheap dorms it attracts 'those' guests that keep people up till past midnight, pretty sure someone was having a wank one night. Sinks and showers are only on the 2nd floor, so better hope you're not on the 4th.

The reception is not 24h and when we got there in the morning it was closed and later in the evening too. There was no way to get in and no number you could call so we were forced to spent the night in another hotel and didn’t get our money for the first night back. The worst thing however was the huge spot of black mold in the rooms. That’s not only disgusting and horrendous considering the price you pay but also a serious health risk for everyone staying there !
